I think the problem with TFA line not selling great is because of massive OVERproduction- HT just made too many(particularly the troopers) in anticipation of crazy demand. I think overall they sold ok but I think OT figures sold better.

I agree. The Star Wars line exploded while things were ramping up for TFA. Now that Hot Toys have seen sets like the ANH Han and Chewie sell out not once, but twice (now on it's third release), I expect we may see Star Wars figures sitting around longer because of larger production runs. Not that the larger production runs are necessarily bad... it is nice that collectors don't need to pay an arm and a leg on ebay for main characters that were waitlisted or sold out quickly.

They just released too much too quickly. I passed on a few items that I really wanted because the cost was really stacking up. The last few months has been pleasant relief.

I am new to Hot Toys, got in mainly because of TFA, but my guess would be the TFA line he sold better then any other figure set. They were made in huge numbers and distributed more widely comparatively. I don't think HT has ever been bigger than they are right now, they may not be selling out but they are most certainly selling more.

Selling 70% of a 20,000 order is still better then selling 100% of a 2,000 order.

Where do you get all this information?

Apologies, I should have specified. What I said above is not gospel, but just guesses based on what I have observed.

It's very possible I am completely off base here. I do think it explains why no TFA figures have sold out, but they keep announcing more of them, and the general explosion of all things HT.

I can only get a few each year so it's wonderful that most remain available for such a long time

At the price the figures are now it's mainly us from the orignal trilogy era in our late 30s, 40s who can afford these figures. And we are more likely to buy OT figures than TFA line.

Though I have Kylo, Rey ordered and will get Luke[emoji50]

For some reason, I get the feeling that Rey will sell out way before any of the other TFA figures. There just seems to be more of a clamoring for her.

I want some aliens from SSC. I'm sick of troopers. How many are there? 30 already with TFA? Is there really somebody who collect just and only and mainly the troopers? It's the same all over again.

Yes there are. I do mainly troopers.
