Honestly the badge color being slightly different doesn't really seem like a big deal to me, and probably won't be all that noticeable in hand. As for updated headsculpts, it can be frustrating sometimes but that's just the way it goes when you're collecting 1/6 figures. Likenesses are constantly being improved as artists get a better handle on them, which means you often have to upgrade. And it was clear from the start that Spock in particular really needed a better sculpt.

My beef is purely selfish. Besides, they're not being improved so we can all get an upgrade. If you're happy and have the money to lose, then all cool, this is just my opinion.

Like I said in my post: QMx go where the dollar is. That's it. That simple. Everything else is secondary, despite what I've seen posted here and on Facebook.

Bottom line is, if they can keep hardcore collectors happy along the way, then good, if Nanjin can make minute improvements that pleases him, great, but it's the mighty dollar and figure sales that drive those changes, better figures = better sales. That's why they're returning to Kirk and Spock - because they're the sellers. Be under no illusion, there's no altruism at in play here, no matter what people like to show off/believe on Facebook :lol.

Purely from a collector's point of view, I like upgrades (even though I see the wrap-around look as pointless, and only good as an exclusive/extra for those who like the look), but with reference to upgraded sculpts: are you kidding me? Now? Years down the road, sure, when the line is completed, not before we even see a sniff of Uhura and Chekov. My collector completist side is regretting buying into this line from the very start. I just don't have the cash to waste on whole new upgraded figures.

I can only hope that QMx returning to Kirk and Spock so soon = more money to try with Uhura and Chekov.

Well the new sculpts are being previewed now, but from the Q&A it sounds like we won't be seeing them until after Sulu, Uhura, Checkov and TWOK are out.

In any case, it's 1/6 Star Trek so I'm onboard no matter what. And couldn't imagine wanting to sell these off out of frustration over a release schedule or because I don't agree with every decision QMX makes.

Plus if you hadn't showed interest in the early sculpts, we would not have made it this far. Even if they improve the sculpts and costumes, the original sculpts costumes and equipment were still incredibly well done. I have no regrets! I'll make a decision when they come out I suppose but I'm more excited for TMP Kirk.

Nice dig there, buddy. I've not once said I don't agree with QMx, read what I said again: Money talks. Plus that's just my opinion. I'm not knocking your opinions at all, so let me have mine. That's the point of a forum. Given your Trek avatar, I have an idea what side of the fence you're on anyway.

Moving on, if they do indeed release updated sculpts after they complete the line, I for one will be happier for the reasons I stated.

On the topic of updates to sculpts or uniforms, I fall on the side of appreciating QMX's efforts to improve their offerings. I've never bought a figure as an investment, so I'm not making buying decisions based on a future value. My poor wife and kids will have to deal. Some have appreciated and most have not. I do have a bias towards Star Trek, as I've longed for high-quality 1/6 scale figures since I was playing with GI Joes in the 1970s.

I do want the rest of TOS crew, I'm not sure how I would feel about aliens or variants. I'm not as big of a fan of the movies so those figures they've previewed aren't as attractive to me. I'm really on the fence as to TNG figures. Picard was really nice--I could probably be talked into a few more of them.

I do agree that you should vote with your dollars/Euros/rubles/pounds and get what you want. The shorter run of figures these days, makes hesitation a riskier strategy.

Actually I was referring to others who've said they sold everything off because of the delays, or because they weren't able to get a complete set, or whatever other reason has been given. Sorry if that sounded like a dig at you.

A new Spock and Kirk? Dope. I missed out on the first releases from pure laziness and am looking forward to getting another chance at them.

I notice McCoy, Pickard and Khan are all still available
after some time.

The only TOS that is probably selling well are
Kirk and Spock.

I wondered if they over produce or the demand
was not there for MCCoy. You would think if
a fan wanted Spock and Kirk, they would also
get McCoy

This might be why for TWOK, there is only
Spock and Kirk

I agree totally with this too.

If the uniforms are changing then it would be a show of gratitude to the early adopters of this line to have the option of at least purchasing new uniforms at a discounted rate so they match, otherwise it really is annoying (my opinion).

I get that Nanjin and QMx are a business and their primary focus is selling figures (despite all the mushy comments to the contrary, let's not kid ourselves), but mismatched uniforms is a no from me. I couldn't continue the line if they look too different.

In the same vein: updated headsculpts on TOS is going to be annoying. I hope they're TMP, but I get the impression they'll be updated TOS. Figures aren't cheap and I have to pick carefully when purchasing, so I can't buy another set of Kirk and Spock, especially as the replacements will then devalue what I already have, making selling and replacing them not practical.

For new adopters of the line it's great - they get updated headsculpts and uniforms. Woohoo! But, for people who showed support from the very beginning, I personally feel like it's a spit in the face and I won't be continuing with my support. I'm just one person, so I know QMx won't lose sleep over it [emoji38] Just how I feel personally.
One point I want to clarify. If I am a businessman in Trek figures, there wouldnt be any 1/6 from QMx. You would have to buy Moebius version.

I spent A LOT more than I could earn in Trk figure. Is a fact and can be traced because my venture was sort of documented through out all these years since 2010.

I have this joke, I am the lowest pay employee at QMx in terms of hours spent in my work.

What I earned in Trek figures since 2016 couldn't even compensate the flights that i took for one year. No kidding.

I'm sure I speak for others in this regard, that I (we) cannot express my (our) gratitude and joy enough. You and your creative team and QMx are the driving force behind these amazing Star Trek creations. Thank you so much!:yess:

A new Kirk in work wouldn't be the same as the one we have now.

He will be a completely new figure.
For Example, the Green Wrap, a body with Kirk body shape... or even a Formal top as an exclusive.

Although TOS designs were simple, but TOS doesnt lack variations.

I don't usually like to buy multiples of the same character, but I would totally buy a separate Kirk for every one of those TOS outfits-- green wraparound, formal uniform, mirror universe, pilot episode...

That sounds fantastic and it’s great that Trek fans with the funds and space will be able to buy these variants. Personally speaking I simply don’t have enough room in my house for multiples of the same character so would really appreciate the opportunity to purchase an accessory pack for the figures I do have (variant costumes, headsculpts etc)...

Damn Nanjin, that's just criminal. Collectors who really care owe you a debt of gratitude. I hope that a windfall of fortune comes your way somehow in the future.
I am happy if the figures can bring back those wonderful time that you had. This is what I want. [emoji6]
