Why do people dislike Chekov so much?

We have Kirk and Spock. Bones and Scotty are good to have the main characters. But with bridge crew, if QMx release Sulu and Uhura and stop there my completist side is going to have a tantrum. Just don't see it as a full set without Chekov and don't understand the hate for him.

I definitely want Chekov. He’s a definite buy to complete the crew.

I have no problem with Chekov at all.
After Scotty, as I said earlier, I’d like to see Uhua. On that, the chair is available as a 3D print file somewhere. I just remembered seeing it.
Back to Chekov: I’m sure he (and Sulu) will get a release at some point.

And yes, the chair drains quickly. I think it’s basically on all the time as soon as the batteries go in.
I have s similar issue with the BCS TARDIS.

I don't think Chekov is thought of disparagingly, merely that his character was only present from season 2 onwards. Inevitably, the other cast members are seen as more prominent. Such was his popularity, people just assumed he was there in the beginning. I would still get him regardless.

I think QMX releasing Chekov will not happen- heck I don't even see Sulu selling well. They need to move on to see more key characters in ST such as Data and Worf...but certainly TWOK Kirk and Spock first

If they are saving costs with the same uniforms and equipment, he may not need to sell as well. TWOK characters need all new stuff. I'm happy if Chekov sales help fund TWoK figures but I don't want an endless parade of Kirk and Spock. That's the opposite of what Star Trek was supposed to represent.

Looks like we could be getting improved uniforms (although they seem so perfect, I guess the nuances of how to improve them is beyond me, but clearly Nanjing really cares about his craft, what he’s doing, and the TOS fans):

Today I feel like that kid I used to be when I would sneak into the attic (when my parents were out at a restaurant) and look at the stash of toys they hid for our Christmas gifts. Scotty is here for Christmas! Happy kid in me once again, without the guilt. :)
Thank you very much, Nanjin!
This is my intention, twisting the Space Time Continuum so we remember who we were through these Trek figures [emoji868]

Both rendered sculpts look fantastic. I would double dip on green wrap Kirk, just so I can have the original with the others and green wrap on the chair. (or vice-versa)...
Beside the green do we have other choices? Torn shirts [emoji28] ?

For me Scotty rounds out the top 4 TOS crew, however if Sulu is happening I need Chekov and Uhua to complete the bridge crew.

Thanks for the continuing insight nanjin!:duff

I get that you're trying to improve things, and that's admirable, but at the risk of being 'that guy' personally I would have far preferred that the new figures matched the old ones in terms of the material used and how it looks, given that they are all supposed to be part of the same crew wearing the same uniforms. I hope the new ones don't look too noticeably different standing next to each other on the shelf as a result of these tweaks and improvements, because to me consistency and uniformity in a set like this is rather important.

I was thinking the exact same thing.

So does anybody else's Captain's chair drain its batteries really damn fast? I'll put in brand new ones and then try the features a couple weeks later and the batteries are already completely dead. And it's happened twice now. As if the chair is permanently turned on even when you're not activating the lights.

Are you guys keeping the batteries inside all the time? I am too much afraid of leaking and damaging, I only put them in shortly for use and then take them out again. Both with the chair and the TARDIS.

At first I left mine in, but after I noticed how fast it drains them I leave them out now.

Looks like the possibility of getting a TMP Kirk has increased. Nanjin has confirmed that the likeness has been signed off.

I agree totally with this too.

If the uniforms are changing then it would be a show of gratitude to the early adopters of this line to have the option of at least purchasing new uniforms at a discounted rate so they match, otherwise it really is annoying (my opinion).

I get that Nanjin and QMx are a business and their primary focus is selling figures (despite all the mushy comments to the contrary, let's not kid ourselves), but mismatched uniforms is a no from me. I couldn't continue the line if they look too different.

In the same vein: updated headsculpts on TOS is going to be annoying. I hope they're TMP, but I get the impression they'll be updated TOS. Figures aren't cheap and I have to pick carefully when purchasing, so I can't buy another set of Kirk and Spock, especially as the replacements will then devalue what I already have, making selling and replacing them not practical.

For new adopters of the line it's great - they get updated headsculpts and uniforms. Woohoo! But, for people who showed support from the very beginning, I personally feel like it's a spit in the face and I won't be continuing with my support. I'm just one person, so I know QMx won't lose sleep over it :lol Just how I feel personally.

I'm in the same boat concerning continuity... As much as I like upgraded figures, making the old ones *kind of* obsolete because of improvements is a bit annoying. I want to have the perfect Kirk, perfect Spock, and perfect Bones. But if Scotty has new features that makes him better... I just want to continue to add to the current lineup. The current costumes of the first three are pretty damn perfect as they are, no real need for improvement here. Same goes with the Kirk sculpt, it received so many praises... Bringing on an improved headsculpt would kinda lessen the interest of the original... Spock would be needed, but not Kirk.

I don't want to just support the line, I want to buy them because I like them and that I enjoy them.

On an other note, I was asking myself the question, on a tight budget, which one would I choose - Sulu, or a green shirt Kirk?

Am I the only person with my chair plugged in? Batteries have never been near mine!

Edit: still no sign of Scotty on the Planet action figures website. All the previous four have disappeared too, not even showing as Sold out. Anyone know if they've lost their European exclusive status?

Honestly the badge color being slightly different doesn't really seem like a big deal to me, and probably won't be all that noticeable in hand. As for updated headsculpts, it can be frustrating sometimes but that's just the way it goes when you're collecting 1/6 figures. Likenesses are constantly being improved as artists get a better handle on them, which means you often have to upgrade. And it was clear from the start that Spock in particular really needed a better sculpt.
