Because it's Machiko...not Lex (thank god). The armor and accessories you mentioned could have been obtained by her at some point in time. The symbol is a tribe marking and burned into her skin. Not as easy to change as armor and significant to her story. Lex was never confirmed by Hot Toys in any event....it was just a guess from board members.

I love the figure! They just need to "accurize" it. Change the scar...and it's damn near perfect. Oh and hey Elder...great video on fixing the Wolfs arm. Nicely done!

Nothing an email to Hot Toys can't fix. They actually seem to listen. I don't care anough to do it (not really into that fig) but if you like the fig i would email them.

Just out of interest, is there an example of where they've changed a design pre-release in response to feedback? I know their customer service is very polite, but the changes between publicity shots and final product invariably seem negative (P2 body markings, anyone?)

It's just a badass and nice looking figure of a woman, and if they think that their husbands are gonna drool over a figure, then they seriously need some councelling?

Then all the husbands/boyfriends have to do is drool over it while the girlfriend/wife is at said councelling.

Well since the comic with Machiko: Aliens VS Predator War takes place in the future approximately sometime after 2227; and the AVP movies take place in 2004, it's perfectly reasonable that Machiko could've found some older armor to wear or that the Predators occasionally use the older armor designs.
It's not a big deal that she's wearing more AVP type of armor, if you think about it, the smoother armor from Predator 1 is a bit older then the AVP designs, so she could be wearing what Preds could call more of a modern design.
The scar placement isn't a big deal to me, I like accuracy, but prefer the placement on her cheek.
I'm just glad they're calling her Machiko.

It's a cool-looking figure no matter what they call her, but since it IS supposed to be Machiko, I wonder why they decided to make her look more occidental than oriental? I don't see a Japanese likeness there at all, but still a great-looking figure and I'm looking forward to ordering one for my own hunting party.

I showed this to my girl friend and she loves it. She's into into collecting half naked anime chicks or figures with cool accessories, so this is right up her alley. I'm lucky to have a cool girl friend.

I still don't really care for the pure accuracy . It looks damn cool. The lightning bolt on her head is like harry potter. Hahaha. She'll carry a broom and a wand instead of spear or disk. Hahahaha.
