Does anyone know if they are going to continue with more ships? I had heard rumors months back that they were, but haven't heard a thing since. I'm hoping they do the Slave 1, if not, I'll have to get Steve's kit.

They did a test run on the X-wing and that’s the only one I know of.

I got the hold and corridors sets, I think well worth it, but it does add to your workload. Mainly because you then need to put lighting.
The underfloor corridor lighting does look sweet, just adds life to your Falcon.

Thanks. I was planning to light as much as possible although I’ve never tackled anything like this before!

I used zero for mine but followed a bunch of builds where they did. For me, FOR ME not worth the expense or extra time.

Thanks for the input. Did you add any custom lighting or was it a straight build?

I have picked up just about every update set (Paragrafix, Shapeways, etc...) for the DeAgo Falcon, as it will be the end-all, be-all Falcon display for me.

I also picked up a lighting kit from a guy in the UK. It took some time for him to send it to me but it was worth the wait. Actually plugs into the existing DeAgo circuitry. It basically provided the underside lighting.

Looking to programming an Arduino for better lighting control as well as sound activation.

I highly recommend taking a look at some amazing build journals on You Tube for insight and inspiration.

Christopher Olsen has a 15 part build series on it here that I would highly recommend taking the time to watch.

His build incorporated a lot of after market parts and lighting. I'm in awe of the guy's skill and talent in regards to these things.

Thanks guys, I'll check these out. I'm hesitant to get started because I'm afraid my experience is well below what it needs to be do this right!

I had zero experience when I started and I think mine is coming out pretty good. Watch a crap ton of videos and take your time.

Really close to finally calling this done. I feel pretty good with what I've done considering I don't have an air brush so this entire thing was hand painted. Gonna do an extremely light "mist" with the base color to soften it and then figure out a way to display this thing.

Fantastic job, Walls... You got that base colour perfect and the weathering looks spot on... Even more impressive that you went without the airbrush...

Neither did I... I went down the oil route on bare plastic... Not particularly accurate, but I'm quite proud of mine too!! :monkey3

Thanks guys! I started this because I was staring down the barrel of a nasty neck surgery and the docs were telling me that I would have an 18-24 month recovery. So I figured I would do the 24 month sub so that I had something to do. Almost three years later, and it's finally almost done. Lol

I almost went the oil route but when I tried it on a few panels I couldn't get it right, so I did the whole repaint, but yours came out really well. Not sure how you oil guys got it so good.

They are now starting the X-wing, no way in hell I would do another subscription with this company because it was a nightmare. Also from what I'm seeing it's just not that impressive, honestly looks like a huge toy.

I gotta do the X-Wing, its one of my most favourite ships, and this thing is going to be huge!!!

Well done on the Falcon, mine is finished but not weathered yet, its a daunting task.....

It’s gonna be huge but have you really taken a look at what’s been out from it so far? The small Bandai kits have so much more detail.

Weathering was the most fun part for me, everything I used could be easily wiped off so I didn’t have to worry about mistakes. Then when I’m completely satisfied I will spray on a top clear coat to seal it all in.

Is this the deagostina? I hate that it is unavailable for US shipping. So BS

Not only is it available in the US, but come BF the complete kit should have a hefty discount. Even since last BF, when I got mine, there have been at least two other sales on it. Nit quite as good, but close enough if you really wanted it.

Good jobs, fellas! mine is still a long ways from even getting started. Space, and health issues put the kibbosh on a lot of my immediate plans.
In the meantime I can enjoy watching you guys tackle it and learn from your examples.

Win/win.

The X-Wing looks pretty cool to me, and I'm sure a dedicated modeler could detail it up quite nicely. I'd love to get it once they make it available as a full kit. That's fortunately a ways away though and I've got more than enough on my plate in the meantime.
