I will be waiting for your upcoming oscar nomination for best screenplay since you said you are writer. Anytime now.

Whether I win or lose, TLJ is still a TERRIBLE movie that bastardized the SW mythos. Its a movie that blatantly insults everything that makes SW special and caters to a demographic that genuinely celebrates corporately-driven, politically-fueled garbage filmmaking.

TLJ is The Sting 2/Exorcist: The Heretic level bad. Its laughable.

Seemed pretty opposite of stereotypical female characters to me.

Written by a hormonal 12 year old boy working for the marketing department at Disney perhaps... Not stereotypical but completely cliched and cynical plot/selling points. Rose was there to sell the movie in asia, not sure why she was in the movie beyond that, she served zero narrative purpose. Holdo could have been great, but was a narrative extending device that made zero sense. I'm doing something that I won't tell you about to make the plot seem more complex than it is.

I have no problem with Rose, don't understand why she is getting so much hate. Liked her outlook in the film, she's inspirational, this trilogies Samwise.

Nice comparison. Of course she wasn't as endearing as Samwise himself but she did basically play the same role and was surprisingly inoffensive and not annoying. I was fully braced for her to be the next Jar Jar and certainly not a character that anyone would ever compare to Samwise Gamgee. I actually didn't mind any of the subplot with her and Finn. Will that change on future viewings? Who knows but for now I'm game (no pun intended) to revisit the casino planet.

I also liked Benecio Del Toro's character ("DJ" according to his action figure.) I found it fascinating to see a character in this universe who was so amoral yet at the same time *not* unrepentantly evil (as evidenced when he voluntarily gave Rose's keepsake necklace back.) I can't really think of any other SW character quite like him right now.

It is a nerd issue really. The nerd and geek fandom are so insecure about their masculinity that any perceive superiority to the other gender will threaten their balls so much that it will implode like the Death Star.

I mean i don't think Rose was a necessary character but to say she is the series Jar Jar Binks is taking it too far and less face it, if she was played by a more attractive actress you wouldn't hear the same complaints.

It is just disgusting to me that people thinks it is alright to **** on her so much because she is not a "hottie" and an Asian.

dont forget:
trump supporters, neo nazis, 4chan users, straight white males, russian hackers, :dunno

I'm a guy, and I find it pretty offensive.

If somebody ever sad something like that to my Wife or Daughter, they'd lose some teeth.

so porgs are like a .... bird cat???

They were inspired by seals, puffins, and pugs. In fact the entire reason they were added to the picture in the first place was because the real Skellig Island was so covered in puffins that were flying to and fro that rather than try and digitally erase them all they just created a puffin-like indigenous creature that matched the fluttering skyline.

I've been to Skellig Michael and I swear I have NEVER seen a Puffin that looks like it had a metal rod shoved up it's ass and rocked back and forth on the seagrass.

I am really intrigued by DJ and wishes there are more of him. For a series where the line between good and evil are usually clearly drawn it is nice to see someone that fits right in between and call the whole conflict for what it really is.

I think Porgs are an amalgamation of the cute anthropomorphic animals that Disney have been doing since their early days.

Well, I hope you two will be happy together.

the rose girl is not even ugly in real life.... disney and Kathleen somehow MADE her look weird and gave her ugly clothes and made her annoying.
if anything you and more people (specially the asian fanbase) should be angry at how they hid this girl under a hideous haircut, no make up and baggy clothes giving her no curves
they really went out of her way to make her homely. yet no one seems to have a problem with this

she could have easily been a star wars cutie like rey but they almost went out of their way to make her as unappealing as possible. shes very cute in real life, she has nice curves, great hair
why the hell did disney make her look so ugly and hid her curves? ask yourself that
