Ms Maximoff has arrived! You folks were right, her hair has quite a bit o' volume coming out of the box.

My apologies for the negativity regarding SS shipping methods as I do love getting the figures quickly. However, once you get spoiled with the double-boxing treatment of other distributors going back to SS & the USPS just doesn't seem as elegant. I'd gladly throw in an extra couple $ for a SS double-box option.

I've never purchased from SS but am considering soon. What's your beef with their shipping? Do they just ship with the Hot Toys shipper box only unprotected?

I don't have the biggest beef with their shipping, I just take it for what it is.

I mean, the shipper is there to protect the box which is there to protect the contents (Pepperidge Farm bread style) so it's doing it's job during shipping. But as I have found with this hobby, it breeds perfectionists who like having their collectible purchases in the sort of condition as they would exit the factory. Double-boxing from places like BBTS & AlterEgo gives me a sense of relief when it comes to shipping expectations for figures but the trade off is shipping speed and those sweet sweet SS reward points.

Here's today's example box from SS. Not the best condition, but it did it's job. BTW, bonus $20 code for whomever gets to it first :)

Thanks for the code!

Ah, okay I see what you mean.

Hmm, I'v got some beatup boxes like that and I also have some super clean boxes. Is it a make or break? I guess that's up to the individual, however that's a little too beat up for my liking. Now this pre-order I was considering is gonna become little tougher!

Isnt the shipper supposed to get beat up? Its a shipper. As long as the artbox is fine Im good I don't really see the shipper as part of the whole package.

She arrived for me also yesterday. Had no idea she was coming, as my email notifications for some reason got filtered into my spam folder. :lol

Really great figure though. Hair seems to be a bit of a pain to futz, as there's a lot of single wild strands sticking up all over the place. Have to continue messing with it periodically to get it as flat as possible.

This will be my last SW figure though. Will stick with this one and the regular AoU version.

No, I agree with you. It's just a dumb brown box which only purpose it serves is to protect the art box and the contents inside.

However as goatchumby stated and I tend to agree with him now that I've been collecting for a little over 2 years... "But as I have found with this hobby, it breeds perfectionists who like having their collectible purchases in the sort of condition as they would exit the factory."

So I totally see the appeal in wanting the factory manufactured brown shipper to be in pristine condition as well.

You can request a pack out with SSC for another $10 and they ship it in another box.

Yikes, kind of pricey for additional protection. With SS shipping prices as is, I'd say increasing it to close to $30 is a bit steep in this age of free shipping.

Ah, the eternal "how important is the shipper?" debate.. :rotfl

I've even had figures come without the Hot Toys shipper, and not just from obscure asian sites that lead you to question how legit the sale is or not. Presumably some more hobby type stores dispose of the shipper so they can display the art box.

Popcultcha is the best for shipping. Cheap and bubble wrapped, with no labels etc on the shipper... if you care about that sort of thing.

Haha indeed. A very pressing matter for hardcore perfectionists, like myself, and nerds alike! The debate rages on! :gah:

Although, I did recently make a purchase knowing it would not contain the Hot Toys brown shipper. It kinda of bugged me, but I've got the Hot Toy I wanted, and in the end that's all that matters.

I got mine yesterday as well. I'll have to hold off taking some descent pictures for a couple of days until after I take care of some weekend stuff.

Just snapped this on my phone and did some image adjustment tonight, thought it loooed quite good!

Not sure the pose is "finished"...may still do some fiddling.

I have a flight stand to try Wanda on so may see how she looks once airborne.
