I think the point she was making is that it didn't sell out lightning quick. It was up for order for more then 6 months before it went to waitlist. That's not fast, let alone lightning fast. Fast would be Battling Cap and NA SW. Not antman.

Yeah it sold out quickly after the CW version reveal because it looks so much better for most people. That and the fact that some really nice photos were going around really sold me on it.

I was going to PO the original but held off thinking it wouldnt sell out . Boy was I mistaken. I remember looking through SS shortly after the CW ver was revealed but it was off their page. Then next day saw it back up under wait-list :(

I prefer the eyes on the original ver. helm and it also has a battle damaged look to it. The CW ver has more narrow eyes and looks too clean for me.

I expected this figure to drop in price on the secondary market and that much people wouldn't buy it because of it retailing for $235 and thinking the CW version will be a better design. Tho I still want CW version. Glad I was still able to pick him up at retail cost, but didn't take advantage of SS RP and $10 shipping flat rate.

I concur with this.

The figure didn't sell/sell out quickly in general, it just sold quicker after the CW suit was revealed. Being that CW was right around the corner, I think many people were waiting to see what the CW suit would look like and when it turned out this is seemingly the preferred suit for a lot of people, people bought this one quicker.

They might have produced less of this given the fact that it's an unproven figure/character and they knew they were planning on releasing a second one right on the heels of this. This is definitely the nicer suit.

Excuse my noob-ness... But does this actually happen? For real?

There's a small percentage of older figures that have had some issues. But if you take care of the figure then you shouldn't have an issue. Just keep in mind that leather..fake or real...will have issues if it's left to dry or in the sun or not taken care of. Same for plastic and cotton. Doesn't matter if it's in your car/truck, or your shoes, or your action figure.

But any perceived issues with figures gets exaggerated in fan sites, when it's really a small percentage of the total amount made that have issues. But people don't generally go around and random post to tell others how good things are, but they do when something's wrong.

I have a lot of figures, including the older ones, and not a single one has any issues. And most of the figures I have doubles and triples. Blade for example has a leather (fake leather) coat and vest and is nearly ten years old. Look at the ones for sale on eBay and you'll see there's plenty without issues. In fact look for any hot toys listed anywhere for sale that have issues and you'll see that it's a very small percentage of total figures.

With any mass produced item there's going to be a failure rate. Just the nature of the business. But it's usually 10% ish.

The post you replied to made it seem as though every figure will disintegrate in 5yrs. Lol just not the case. Like I said, go look at how many 5yr old hot toys figures are listed for sale on eBay and other places. Thousands of them. Including lots of ones with leather type material and they didn't magically fall apart.

Yeah, Motux is right. I have a few older figures and they're fine. I've found I just need to be a little more careful when posing them, but that's largely because the plastic sometimes gets brittle. I'm sure the leather/pleather on this figure COULD have problems, but I'm not worried about it.

Thanks! I'm looking...

I wouldn't spend too much time scouring the entire marketplace looking for the best deal if you're really interested brother. You should give one of the eBay sellers who have this for $259.99 a shout, and see if they'd knock off 10% by dealing directly. This way you'd get it for retail, and you'd be hard prodded to do much better than that at this point. In another 4-6 weeks you probably won't find one for under $300

You're absolutely correct.

I concur with this. Well said.

I love my figure. He's fantastic and I too watched Ant Man again. While I liked AoU, I really thought Ant Man was in its own way very good. The costume was excellent. Even though I also like the CW costume I'm glad I added this one
