Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Captain America: Civil War - Spider-Man Collectible Figure

I'm surprised they haven't put up a new pre-order from Civil War since the film's release. Maybe tonight.

They still have to fo Scarlett Witch and the Vision so we're a long way from Spider-man

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Captain America: Civil War - Spider-Man Collectible Figure

HT is hard to predict. They either have an avalanche of figure reveals early on or you don't see them for months.

Their SW lines are especially irritating. Just now teasing Han and Chewie.

A Spider-Man Funko has finally been announced for July.

Marvel Toy News has an interesting claim:

I know that’s going to frustrate plenty of collectors who only want Spider-Man (and believe me, I know there are a lot of them), but from what I understand, MCU Spidey must be included only in Captain America: Civil War multipacks for licensing reasons or else he cannot be released at all.

So far the only Spider-Man toys for the movie have indeed been "exclusives" as part of multipacks. There's the 6 inch Marvel Legends Spider-Man with Captain America and Iron Man, and then a 2.5 inch Spider-Man figure that was part of a multipack with Cap, Iron Man, Black Panther, Black Widow, Falcon, War Machine and Ant-Man.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Captain America: Civil War - Spider-Man Collectible Figure

Whoever decides these "licensing reasons" understands that Spidey will soon extend far beyond Civil War right? They better write up a new deal quick.

If this is true HT could presumably workaround it by releasing Spidey in a 2 pack set.

The licensing deals vary from movie to movie don't they?

Yes, but the frame work for any marvel cross over is already written. When he is in his own Sony film (even is marvel studios writes, directs, casts, produces ect the character and film rights are owned by Sony ) the licensing will work the same as last Sony spiderman films. But in homecoming the iron man/stark licensing will be the same as spiderman is for civil war.

For marvel they don't much care if they get full licensing/merch rights for spiderman if they can use him in films.

The deal for licensing for civil war is going to be very restrictive in regards to spiderman.

It was a very smart deal for Sony to make with Marvel that benefits all of us.

I had assumed the Civil War rights for Spidey would be a better more restrictive, but I'm still holding out hope Hot Toys decide to make him. I figure when he gets a solo film that he'll get a new costume, as Marvel tends to do that with every film for the title character. I'd love to have this guy to go with my other Spideys, as I make it a point to snag every 1/6 Spidey that gets made.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Captain America: Civil War - Spider-Man Collectible Figure

Interesting. I assume they could pair him with a Tony Stark figure. Not sure what else would make sense with what they have teased so far.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Captain America: Civil War - Spider-Man Collectible Figure

I think Spidey with Antman (tiny version) would be a great multipack! ;)

I'm actually a big fan of that idea, considering I'd like a CW Tony Stark figure. :yess:

I hope we see him soon. :impatient:

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Captain America: Civil War - Spider-Man Collectible Figure

Every time I see there's been a post in this thread I'm hoping to see a teaser or something! Decided I'm gonna have to sell my amazing Spider-Man 2 fig! I hope they announce it soon, don't like not having a web head in the collection haha

Do you have the 1/6 Holy Grail 1967 Captain Action Spider-Man?

I do not. Way too rare and expensive for me, at this point in my finances. I've currently got the Marvel Icons Spidey, all the Hot Toys Spideys, and all the Medicom Spideys.
