Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

if they would be 50 or less I would do because it's childhood nostalgia. with 90 I guess I'll pass... ^^;

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

What's so special about these figures that makes them worth 90 bucks? Are they made out of a super high quality plastic?!

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Probably the combination of a small run, and the Nostalgia Tax. Hasbro pumps out similar figures for 10 bucks.

They're 1/6, 12" tall
$90 sounds about right, I wouldn't buy it, but I get the price
Could be cheaper though

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Honestly, more than anything, I just want to see what Mondo puts out for their TAS 1/6th line.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

At the speed of one figure every 6 years...

I'm perfectly happy with this DC line. Need a Batcycle and Gotham Police Car to finish out vehicles.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Especially if that Gotham police car comes with Renee Montoya!

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Check your Batmobiles.

I was dusting off my collection last night and the rubber wheels on my Batmobile are already deteriorating. All four wheels are oily to the touch and are developing grey, chalky dusting to them. I'm pretty pissed. One of the batman figures from the phantasm 2 pack is developing he same chalky substance on the cape as well. My Robin and regular Batman figures haven't developed this yet, so I'm guessing it's just cheap plastic.

Well two weeks ago when this happened, I gave the tires and cape a good cleaning with a microfiber cloth and water. Took the residue off and looked as good as new.

Checked them out today and they're worse than before. The grey chalky residue and oil is even more evident than it was before and are sticky to the touch. Thinking of just trashing them.

My goodness DiFabio! That looks really bad. I checked my Batmobile after hearing about this before, but I didn't think to remove Batman and see how his cape is holding up. I think you should email DCC. Kevin would probably send you a new Batman. However, the Batmobile I'm not sure of. I hope they replace that for you too.

Sent from the bat cave

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

yes, email them. they need to know about these issues. hopefully they fire that incompetent manufactury finally!

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Whatever you do, don't trash them, E-mail Kevin and send him these pics. They will definitely replace the Batman. I am curious about the Batmobile... but you never know they may replace that as well. Definitely E-mail them, they must know about this and improve their quality control.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Seeing that makes me want to sell my Batmobiles before that crud starts to happen and not buy anymore.

Yeah, I emailed them. It's a bummer but I don't want this **** reacting with my other figures. One time I had some old Toy Biz and NECA stuff mixed together in storage and one figure messed them all up. The fumes from the plastic, vinyl or whatever from the tires and that cape are pretty bad too.

Seeing that makes me want to sell my Batmobiles before that crud starts to happen and not buy anymore.

The Hot Toys ones? My Hot Toys '89 Batmobile is fine. I check that thing out all the time whenever I'm home. The only bad experience with that one were those scuffs when we first opened it. Since then it's been well worth the $600 price tag.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I can see DCC replacing the Batman for sure and while not the whole Batmobile, certainly the wheels and tires. It should be possible to unscrew the chassis, remove it, replace the tires and wheels, and put it all back together.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

It's mold release. It is put in plastic during production so the parts are easily removable from the molds. The white powder is some sort of soy bean oil. It is apparently non toxic. Usually turns up on softer plastics. Could be a sign of the plastics breaking down. You can wipe it off or use a blowdryer on it. The bad news is that it will come back.

Glad I stopped collecting this line and sold it off. Too many problems to bother with it. I will stick with my Kenner toys.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

just let's wait another ~20 years till another producer comes back to this line with better quality and less annoyance... "oTL

And when they do, i hope they make them with the same Kenner size.

I also prefer my Kenner toys, I may purchase 2 DCC toys, but not looking forward to collect all of them even if they look cool.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

yea the classics were cool. even though they weren't as accurate as someone wanted them to be, but we may not forget that they were supposed to be toys for kids and kids just wanna have fu-un (xD)

[Edit] But the size of the DCCs works fine for me. I have several figures of several manufacturies and series and stuff that have this size.
