Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Hey guys, had a couple questions for you display makin peeps. So I went to Michael's in search of what everyone calls "card" which I assume is cardstock, so I could make some backgrounds for the new bookshelf I bought, but all I could find is 12x12 sheets at the biggest size. Do you guys find huge sheets of this stuff or do you use poster boards? The lady there said they don't make cardstock bigger than 12x12, so idkk. Also, I'm going to be buying some foam board today to make some individual different level steps, but I'm not sure how to go about making them. Does anyone have any pics/advice of what to do with the board once I get it? I've tried looking it up other places, but I haven't really found any answers. Should I cut the platform section, cut 2 length wise sections, and glue the platform on top of them, then cover in poster or card or whatever? Any help would be very appreciated! N00b status over here. If you can point me to some sort of tutorial video that would be awesome too

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Heads up DCBServices has series 7 and 8 up now. All of them are $19.04 and clayface is $27.20 also the 5-pack is $54.40.

Isn't that like a $3 increase per figure over what they've been charging for BTAS figures? =\

DCC upped the price on most of their figures. $28 srp for a single card will be the norm for them for all of their lines now, minus the movie ones, which are more. Arkham, Designer and Animated series were all $25, soon to be $28. The Gordan line is the last of the animated ones listed at $25srp. I guess when you break it down, considering there will only be 8 single releases with the price increase this year, that's $24 extra dollars for the whole year if you buy in shop and pay retail. Not so bad, I guess. Still think it's ridiculous for the animated and designer lines. Animated have very minimal detail and the articulation on the Designer figs suck for the most part, so the increase on those isn't justified to me

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Nice setup!

Sent from the bat cave

Thank you!! :hi5:

Great set up!!! What cabinet is that?

Thaaaanks!! :hi5:

That's actually part of my overall wardrobe.
I had my wardrobe completely customized, while my bedroom was being renovated.

The "cabinet" once had wooden doors like the rest of the wardrobe.
I completely removed such doors and what was inside it.

Then, I ordered the shelves from a joiner, and the dark-glass doors from a glazier.

It was actually pretty cheap and I found the result amazing.

Awesome display World'sGreatestDetective! The figures look great on black background but white works so well as well! I'm torn what to do with my new showcases now! haha

Thank you, Zelu! :hi5:

Yeah, I'm really digging the all-white backgrounds. It looks so much cleaner.

I've given up on doing elaborated Gotham backgrounds with paper, as I'm really loving the clean look of the all-white bg.

Plus, the figures are colorful enough to pop out on a white bg. Even the dark ones (from The Lord of the Rings) pop out really well.

then you are luckier than me. my TAS-Batz fell only once and immediately had a big scratch on his left "ear". fixed it with permanent marker

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Respectfully have to disagree.

Don't get me wrong the regular version looks good as well but there is a nice contrast between the matte and glossy finish on the updated version.

But you can't go wrong with either, both look like the cartoon come to life.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

It took one month for my bedroom to be renovated, and it's finally done.

My new shelves are finally here!!

I ordered dark glass doors to protect the figures from light damage.

Those are my 3 most beloved action figure collections.

It goes like this, from top to bottom:

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (Toy Biz) - 2 shelves
Batman: The Animated Series (DC Collectibles) - 3 shelves
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (Mattel) - 1 shelf

And here is a close-up look at my BTAS figs:

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Well here's my first attempt at making my new bookshelf look dope lol. Not thrilled with it, but it will do for now. Should have gotten some white or light grey and yellow, for some windows and what not. I desperately need to make the risers next. Using an old Beta tank and a cup right now haha. Can't find any decent size foam board around here though

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I assume those are cotton balls around the Phantasm? That's a really cool idea that adds quite a bit to the look of the figure. Nice job.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Folks, I got the batman + phantasm 2 pack the other day and found batman's nose doesn't look quite right -- it's not as sharp as it should be. I requested for a replacement and received one but the replacement seems to be have the same problem. Has anybody noticed this too? Here are some pictures I took.
