You got balls. I'm having separation anxiety.

I still have a bad taste in my mouth with regard to the Speeder Bike. And my Scout Trooper isn't up to par compared to the awesome HT Stormies and FO Stormie. I've got Kylo, Luke, Jakku, FO TIE, etc., all on the way and I'm sure HT will get around to 3PO, even if it's the red armed version. I'd rather wait and be totally happy with the end result.

I looked at a Tamashii a couple of weeks back,it sold for $380 (£260) here in u.k.
I have paid $300 for this, too late now.

As simple as Threepio is compared to IM, I wouldn't pay a cent over $200. Ole Goldenrod isn't worth almost 400 bucks.

With Uk 20% tax $200 is $300 shipped, quite used to being robbed over here.
I thought $380 was reasonable.

I noticed that one thing that looks a little bit "cartoony" to me is the weathering. As it's applied so thickly, it reminds me of this type of effect where everything is underlined to give it a straight-from-the-page type of look. The underlying body on this 3PO still looks excellent though, so if the weathering can be removed a bit like it could on R2 then it can likely be made to look great pretty easily. That said, I had no luck using alcohol to get rid of some of the scout trooper weathering on the helmet as mine was really poorly applied. R2's diffuse weathering is pretty different than these strong lines they've gone for.

I'll disagree with you about that to my dying day. :cuss Tamashii's 3PO really captures the character, IMO. SSC for me isn't even close. Just hate how his face looks, among other things.

Yeah, I see its minor flaws but in a general sense it 100% captures 3PO. And it captures a SW character better than any other 1/6 figure ever has. It actually feels like you're holding a real but shrunken-down 3PO.

Funniest comment of the day!

BTW, they're already shown a C-3PO - he was wearing a Drax costume so many people missed it.

Surely we're over this "I'll wait for HT" thing given that nearly every OT offering so far has been decent at best, somewhat disappointing at worst.

Their headsculpts are gorgeously realistic but their spotty record on likeness makes me feel like HT Yoda and a 3PO would be iffy. Really hope I'm wrong - everyone else has messed up 1/6 Yoda and if HT does too, it'll be the last chance for some time.

I disagree. HT has nailed every amor sculpt for the SW line. While the human sculpts may be subject to accuracy or not, the troopers and Vader have turned out great. Most likely they'll nail 3PO likeness too. Only time will tell.

That was a disappointment. The scale is totally off.

I'm still in for this one. Hoping that by the time HT gets around to it, I'll either be too poor to afford it, or too rich that it doesn't matter.

I'm talking about the human sculpts - even SSC can nail armor sculpts. Even if it turned out good at the very end, HT Vader was touch and go for a long time - the prototype looked weird. And I'm not a huge fan of the HT stormie helmet - it's only marginally better than the SSC helmet. That makes me think 3PO would be more iffy.

The front was a little foreshortened and the handlebars too small but overall the scale is pretty close.

Scout helmet was off for SS.

Sure looks smaller to me...

Yeah, I followed all that discussion, but I've done a bunch of pretty careful comparisons with great screen caps and it's a little small around the handlebars (and the bars themselves are way off) but overall it's somewhat correct.

And Carrie's a full foot shorter than a Scout.

Because most people are so enamoured by the weight and trying to justify the price they can't see anything else. :)

What? :lol I seem to remember the discussion going something like this:

Everyone: The pistons need to be that size to function like pistons without breaking
Pixel: Whatever. I'm not paying more than 80 bucks for it

It is for a UK buyer :)

Keeping my order come hell or high water!

Rushes off to put on hip-waiters and get a good supply of ice.

I don't know why anyone would cancel this tbh :dunno

I haven't really studied the problem so I'll have to take your word on it. But it bugged me enough to pass on it. Well, that and the price.

Funny I thought the same thing, but I thought it was done so it would be visible at a distance.
I think on shelf it will look great , especially next to R2 . Under a microscope or macro lens , well not much stands up to that.

I think the pair looks awesome together!
