Super Freak
Binge watched this over the weekend. I've never wanted to throw my controller through my tv screen more so than while watching this. More disturbing than any horror movie I've ever seen.
Watched couple of weeks ago but couldn't watch the last ep as it made me so angry so just googled what happened instead.
It just shocks me that things like this can happen these days
That's me. I've never been so angry watching something. I just wanted to punch my tv.
Spoiler:I cant be leave after all this time nothing has happened to overturn the verdict. That tampered blood container was such a smoking gun.
Spoiler:Something in my gut feeling told me there was more to it. There's two sides to the story.
When his appeal, even when it reached the supreme court got denied, I thought...there has to be more to this.
Of course, now that I've seen it through the show's objective of telling it through Avery's side...I looked it up online to find out the other side to the story.
the show was excellent at smokes and mirrors...misdirections to make you side with Avery. And raise lots of questions to point at evidence elsewhere.
When Teresa was getting the annoying phone calls, the show was clever in pointing this out and making it seem like maybe it was the ex-boyfriend.
But in fact, there's a strong case that it is actually Avery that was making the annoying phone calls.
Avery had an obsession with Teresa and when calling Auto trader for ads, he would specifically ask for Teresa. One time, he greeted her wearing only a towel.
Teresa was creeped out by Avery that she had asked auto trader not to send her there anymore.
The day of the murder, he called her three times using *67 which conceals the caller's identity...why the deception?
Also, the car that's to be placed on the ad is Avery's...but he put, I think his sister's name because Teresa may not comeover if she finds out that it was Avery's. Again...why the deception?
burnt pieces of Teresa's belongings were found at the pit including the camera and palm pilot. So did the cops again plant these evidence?
His sweat was found in her car. Again, cops guilty of planting this evidence as well?
One of the things the defense said was absurd was finding her blood on the back of her toyota. So if Avery was gonna dispose of the body using the fire pit, a walking distance from the crime scene...why put her at the back of the toyota to drive her body to the pit?
Well, quite possibly, he was probably gonna dispose the body elsewhere, but came to the conclusion that its best to burn it.
The full transcript of the recorded conversation of Dassey talking to his mom has Dassey telling his mom that Avery used to sexually fondle him. The show nicely neglected to leave this out. lol.
I think Avery has a perversed sexual nature that the show deceptively kept out.
I forgot if it was his other nephew or cousin who said that while Avery was in prison the first time, Avery told him to take care of his wife (sexually).
This can be quite similar to Dassey's case where Avery tells Dassey to be a man and sexually assault Teresa while she was strapped to the bed with handcuffs and leg iron.
Also, a few weeks before Teresa's murder, Avery purchased the handcuffs and leg iron that Dassey described in the sexual assult.
Avery's excuse was he recently bought it for his gf. But how did Dassey know of the handcuffs and leg iron if he was just making that up? So he had to have seen the handcuffs and leg irons.
I think one of the reasons why the appeal keeps getting turned down, cause you can find a strong case that the local police, did
tamper with evidences. Do I think the cops are guilty of planting some evidence? Yes.
That's why if you look at the case through the defense side, You feel a lot of anger cause it seems like all the police tampering were getting ignored. I think if Avery would get an appeal, he may even be set free through technicality if we dig deep into the police involvement.
I do think the police was wrong, and that they tampered with evidence to strongly convict Avery.
But Avery is no angel. This is the guy who ran his cousin off the road and pointed a gun at her.
Through Dassey's own words, sexually molested him.
The same guy that threw the family cat in the fire.
I think some of the ways he was convicted was wrong, but the end result is ok...I do think Avery is guilty.
Like everyone, I watched this last week and couldnt stop watching.
Made the big mistake of trying to watch one episode to wind down before going to sleep.
I ended up sleeping at 6 am. Finished watching the rest when I came home from work that day.
Like most people, my first reaction was shock and disbelief. I think the biggest fear watching the show is thinking that it can happen to you.
I love watching shows like this, or like the show "The first 48" because its a murder mystery...a "who done it".
Like "The first 48", sometimes, its black and white and its clear as day that the evidence is beyond the shadow of the doubt.
But sometimes, I find myself amused when my first instinct is to think the person being interrogated is guilty, then find out, he was innocent,
and sometimes, the witness even turned out to be the murderer.
Halfway to "Making a murderer", I'm telling my coworkers about the show, and I'm so angry and in disbelief.
When I finished the show...

Spoiler:Fascinating! When you say strong case Avery made them calls, what does that actually mean? Can you define that more clearly?Surely with all the available technology today, they could prove or disprove who made them calls? I also thought that evidence/confession from her colleague was a pivotal piece of evidence and could potentially have lead to her assailant, but that trail went cold. I think the film-makers did precisely as you described in that it seemed to implicate the ex boyfriend or possibly her room-mate was making them calls. I am still trying very much to get my head around the series after completing it last night. Do I think Avery had issues? Yes. Was he an angel? No. Like how the series set out, it explained this fella did some pretty silly things, and that cat situation was disgusting, but does that justify the level of hate/social control that was pressed upon this fella by the state/local law enforcement? No. His defense lawyer nailed it for me at the end, when he said he hoped he did do it, because if he didn't, that is just something that he couldn't live with. A second time wrongly convicted. This docu-series has shaken me up, I got to be honest. I can't remove it from my head!
