I don't sit and watch The Hobbit thinking this is better that the PT, Nolan Batman, Indiana Jones or even the Porky's movies. I just sit there and enjoy them.

I don't remember seeing any Hobbits complaining of hating sand and saying lines like "No, i'm so in love with you". :lol

Besides, Lucas got too weird with his Jedi mythology.

Hobbit was about honor being on a collision course with greed with a messy back story trying to connect the LOTR.

Greed? Greed would have been great, but instead we got psychedelic nightmares of golden pools and literal "dragon sickness". :lol

That statue melting was really really bad cgi. :lol

Bottom line, Hobbit are no LOTR and PT are no OT.

But I honestly can not sit thru the PT no matter how hard I try.

This is coming from someone who owns Ghost Rider. :lol

I don't have that issue with Hobbit.

Both are prequels, but Hobbit had the better adventure.

Hobbit trilogy was far superior, but both were obviously very underwhelming.

Agreed. The comparisons between the prequels and the Hobbit trilogy are a bit overblown IMO. The overuse of CGI is a common flaw between the two but, the writing, acting, direction etc in the Hobbit (while not as good as LOTR by any means) was head and shoulders above the PT IMO. And that's coming from a person who thinks the Hobbit trilogy is just ok.

Yes they are at times in the same league as the PT as much as I hate to say that...

The Star Wars prequels are more memorable to me than the Hobbit movies. I think Revenge of the Sith is way better and more exciting than Battle of the 5 Armies. That stuff, especially the ending, put me to sleep. The Hobbit movies died with a whimper while Revenge of the Soth ended on a high note with that montage (I think).

Prolly won't watch either trilogy for a very long, long time. Lord of the Rings on the other hand . . . tis the season to watch them again. Always in the mood for the Fellowship around winter time.

I agree- the big battle at the end was so cliched and just over- CGIed with nothing memorable...Smaug's stuff was far more exciting and better done..

I don't like the Hobbit movies and don't think they're very good, but who the hell would go through the time and effort to create a 5 part, hour long "documentary" about why it's bad? You know it took some effort too, because the editing is quite good. What a waste of time. :lol

Jackson and Co. came out and said they screwed the pooch, that's enough for me. The Hobbit movies are over and there will always be Lord of the Rings.

people trying to be the new Plinkett

I watched the first two and would say the critique is spot on. As for why bother making them, I'd say the topic's worth examining for its own sake b/c of how unsatisfying The Hobbit is when compared to LotR. Still, I'll watch the other 3 sections at work, as opposed to on my own time. :lol

Typing out a post on a message board is way different than narrating and editing a mini documentary. :lol I wouldn't waste my time with such a thing.
