Re: Suggestion: include the Manufacturer/Company name preceding the product name in search results. When you do a search for "widget" and that item is made by 10 companies it can get a little sketchy picking the right one.

In the list view. The manufacturer is only displayed below the description as a tag currently. For me, this is really difficult to pick out quickly from a long list.

Suggestion: Sort columns for stash lists - click a column to sort by that column. I can't make any sense of the unsorted list. Offer an icon above the images on the left for the "custom order" - remember the sort order persistently.

The list that comes up by default when viewing one's own stash doesn't make any sense to me because I couldn't figure out how it was sorted - was it the order I added them in? No. So I'm suggesting being able to click on the title/header of any column to sort by that column. Because you also offer a custom/manual order feature, to toggle that one I suggest creating a header/icon above the photo that can be clicked on for that.

If you are in the list view, they should be displayed in sort order. IF sort order was never set, then it SHOULD be displayed by when they were physically added to the database. Your custom order icon makes sense now, I see what you mean. But yes, we definitely need sort links on the columns at minimum.

Which brings me to another issue I just found. :)

Clicking on the poster/list icons on search results blows away the results and shows an "ascending" list of what looks like random collectibles.

Ya if you go between tiles and list it blows away the current search, which I agree should get fixed.

Ascending is the default which should be alphabetically. With some names having special characters in the title, it makes it look random but it is still ascending

Another suggestion: Only display items in the FILTER options lists from the available search results. In other words, populate those filter options only from the searched results. For instance, when I search for "stormtrooper" there may be only 6 manufacturers, but trying to filter by manufacturer shows me every single one in CS's database.

We do this current for the user's stash which is easier because it is a smaller subset of data. I haven't done this yet for the main search yet because it is paginated on the server-side. I would have to add some extra queries to handle this, which isn't a big deal but I just need to make sure their aren't any performance concerns.

One more: include more fields/db columns when searching. For example, if I search for Hot Toys Wolverine zero matches are found. I have to search only for "Wolverine" to get any results. You can probably find some search libraries to help with this. Doing a query on a single db column is too restrictive.

Ya good call. We do this for brand/license now. I can add manufacturer.

Taking a stab at enhancing the search a bit more. I wonder if it makes more sense to offer an "Advanced Search" that would have a lot more options that you could specify?

Advanced is good for narrowing/filtering options, but the basic search should provide a wide assortment of results. So I'd still love to be able to search for "sideshow stormtrooper" or "hot toys darth vader" in the basic search.

If you notice anything weird with Collection Stash let me know. I did a bunch of server and library updates tonight. Everything seems good but you never know.

Bro, we so need to work on a mobile app.

I would love to do a mobile app but I think I would have to bring someone else on to help me with that. I am not sure I have the bandwidth to do an app + work on the collection stash platform.

I will ask if you guys can run Collection Stash in a mobile browser and tell me how we can make things better? We use responsive design but I have not tweaked it really.

What: When browsing the details of an item that is already in your collection, the "Add" buttons at the top can be changed to indicate that the items are already in your collection, along with a count to show how many.

Why: Removes confusion of whether items already in collection when looking at those buttons. Removes personal details (collection status and count) from the line below otherwise filled with product-specific details. Takes up less space in general.

How: This I haven't thought about yet. :) The buttons need to have their current function of adding the item to your collection/wish list while at the same time clearly showing you already have the items there. It might also be a good idea to indicate or prompt to make sure adding a second item is the desired outcome.

Ya, I could update the button to make it a bit more obvious.

If you are adding it to your stash, the modal does indicate that you have one in your collection already. However, there is no modal for the wishlist, which makes it slightly more difficult.

Hey, Tyler.
Long time no add.
Tried just to do that, but something´s off.
Wanted to add the Classic Video Game Robocop, titled him "Robocop - Classic Video Game Appearance", gave him this NECA URL:
Had a full description also and price, but the site wouldn´t take either.
Re-wrote it to just "Robocop", adjusted price and checked the URL, nothing worked.
I´m using Firefox 35.0.1.
Anny ideas?
Best
Timo
