Theres a ton of collectors on social media that dont use these forums. Word of a bad product spreads quicker than it would on here.

Too bad the word that those people that actually have it like it a lot doesn't spread as rapidly as the chicken littles that don't have it and are determined to make the worst of a good item.

I haven't taken any pics of mine yet, but I like the statue. When it's sitting on the shelf it looks great. I need to figure out how I want to pose the cape--right now it's basically hanging off him but it still looks good. Is it worth $400? I don't really think so considering the difference in quality between it and the superior comic Superman PF. However, I got a good deal on mine though so I'm happy with what I paid. At the end of the day, it looks great on my shelf and I'm glad I picked it up.

Here are my photos.

DA, you really owe it to yourself to hunt this guy down at maybe your LCS or perhaps the house of a fellow collector even if you have no intention of picking up the piece for yourself.

Yeah I would love to see this in hand, hopefully my LCS will get it in.

You are occasionally (not always) taking something you believe to be true based on these second hand accounts and running with it for a paragraph's worth of notes when the underlying observation is incorrect.

That's your opinion, but since Remy has confirmed what I thought, I believe my observation is correct. BTW sorry about the long paragraphs, I just feel the need to vent because I am pissed off still. However, from now on I try will and keep this as brief as possible.

The PVC is not "rubbery" and bears no resemblance to the Hot Toys head sculpt treatment at all. What it resembles is polystone... Honest and for true. This is why it #1 looks perfectly at home next to other polystone PFs on the shelf, and #2, the material in no way lends itself to the Hot Toys-esque skin treatment.

Personally, I think it looks at home next to the other PFs because the paint job is the same quality as the paint job on other PFs.

If you had this piece repainted by the Hot Toys paint master, it would resemble the SS prototype, not a HT 1/6 figure.

So are you saying it has a stone look appearance?

As for the muscleature issue, like you, I think I prefer the treatment that the polystone proto showed because a lot of times with these PFs, I'm perfectly happy with a more idealized sculpt. That's one of the reasons I always loved the prototype head sculpt/paint apps because while you can argue that it's not 100% Cavill, I always found it a superb representation of iconic Supes mixed in with an undeniable Cavill likeness. BUT... I also think it is undeniable that the silver reflection through the custom tailored suit of the production PF showing a more subtle but still well defined physique is FAR more screen accurate that how the proto presented.

Maybe so, but I still prefer how the proto looks, for reasons, I will no longer go into again.

And I think the bottom line here is that on this piece SS went all out on the suit presentation with screen accuracy as their Holy Grail, and all other considerations be d@mned. I really think this is what led them to the PVC because it solved EVERY LAST ONE of their perceived "problems" with the proto.

Ok then what is their reason for making the CR PVC to then? Sorry I don't buy their explanation.

I think they gambled that collectors would love the suit SO much that polystone envy would eventually take a back seat. We're still in the stage two (anger) of the 12 step process in dealing with that as a dissatisfier at the moment. Despite all of the energy around this right now, the final result of SS's gamble remains to be seen.

Well they are morons for thinking that, but I must admit it really is a nice looking suit but no way am I spending that much on a statue just because the suit looks nice.

But here's hoping that even if PVC 1/4 scale figures becomes a staple at SS, they never try to pass one off as a Premium Format piece, along with the Premium price, again...

If they do that again after CR, I am sure there will be trouble. I think they realize now that trying to use PVC for statues is a :nono

I think we're pretty much agreeing on most of these points, DA. Don't think for a minute that I'm saying that you shouldn't be letting us know what you think. I'm happy to read your opinions here. And if brevity is a virtue, its one I clearly don't possess.

The only thing I'm trying to do, as one who owns this piece, is come is and let folks know when what they're assuming doesn't jibe with what I'm seeing since I have the piece right here in front of me. So:

1. The paint apps make the face and hands look just like the face/hands of my polystone pieces. You CAN find the seems lines if you're looking for them, but this detail is virtually invisible when viewing the piece "normally".

2. The paint job is on par with the other PFs I own. A few steps down from the proto (as expected), and nowhere near the Hot Toy's awsomehood.

3. I like the way the proto was done in terms of the musculature better too, because I like a more idealized Supes. But the production is more screen accurate.

After all the debate and arguments, i dont know what to expect bout this piece hehehe. Havent cancelled mine, still waiting for him. Need to see this up close and personal. [emoji16]

Yeah man I am not trying to start a debate or say you are wrong, I just don't like what I see. It's just personal preference. The difference between the proto and final product is like night and day for me. However, it is still not a bad piece, unlike that Batman PF disaster. :horror

I mainly agree with all the points you mentioned but it is just not the musculature of the suit, it is the fact that the suit doesn't look like it is sculpted on there like most PFs do. As far as the final product being more screen accurate as far as musculature goes, I will take your word for it.

Only the head on the CR Superman is PVC.

I know SS Alex said that she thinks only the head is PVC and the body is polystone but that has yet to be confirmed. Judging from the pose the whole body would have to be PVC because if it was polystone the whole statue would tip over as it would be top heavy. Unless they can some how make the body lighter than than the base by making it hollow and the base solid cast. :dunno

Yeah, I have a very hard time believing that CR Supes is going to be anything but a full PVC cast head to toe. Just don't see how its possible otherwise. But SS does deal in Magic, so who knows...

One thing I think we can say for sure, however, is that sometimes SS CS reps operate on a wing and a prayer in terms of the info the disseminate, and their info is often inaccurate (no fault of their own), or at least no up to date.

I printed a couple of Backdrops.
I had a few that were more of a MOS posters, but for now, I kinda settled for this snow scene
to Re-enact the Snowy mountain First flight scene.
Kinda looked like he landed at some rocky areas and about to take flight again.
