If nothing is shown at SDCC this year, I will give up all remaining hope, unsubscribe from this thread, and just accept that Batman will, in fact, not Return

I would , too. It probably won't be this year to announce- way too much IM and now GoTG to pump out...and remember Avengers 2 and Ant Man next year...ooopps no time to do these!

Yep. The Marvel machine continues to chug along pushing all other releases out of its way

Yeah, if Returns, or Prometheus or BTTF or any of that stuff isn't shown at this year's SDCC, it's a good bet they're cancelled. I know I've personally written them all off as such. There's no way they'll have time for any of those with the end of 2014 and 2015 being a HUGE year for Marvel/Disney product. They already have a lot on their plate and most of these new releases are expected by Q2 of 2015! By the time they're done cranking out Guardians of the Galaxy, plus additional Iron Man 3 product, it'll be onto Avengers 2: Age of Ultron. The hype for that film has already begun and there's several additional characters to be made along with the original cast (Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Thor, Widow, Hawkeye and Fury). Then before you know it, the Captain America 3 and Batman vs. Superman hype train will be moving right along.

Hot Toys probably abandoned Batman Returns awhile ago, very doubtful their heart was in it. Think about it, back when the license was announced they were probably coming off a Batman high with their then new '89 DX line and the upcoming TDKR figures for 2012. That would explain their enthusiasm with the 1/4 inclusion too since Enterbay had been hyping that scale up at around the same time. Now that the dust has settled and there's more money making prospects with Marvel/Disney, these niche licenses probably are of no use to them and got the axe. After seeing what they've done with Rocket and Groot as far as one off, unique figures go, I don't see why any of us thought a Devito Penguin would be a task or challenge to them. He could have been a cool figure along with the other two. Oh well.

If by some miracle Batman, Catwoman and Penguin do come out, they'll most likely be $300+ and be doomed from the start.

I think Hot Toys knows it's important to include both Marvel and DC related toys in its line-up. Since Batman v. Superman isn't coming out for a while, that still leaves a bit of time in between the Marvel releases for figures like these or Arkham City. I'd still put my money on Arkham City this year, since Arkham Knight is coming out early in 2015.

Yeah, Arkham City is probably still a go since there's still Arkham Knight on the horizon (not to mention we saw prototypes of their development, unlike the others.

Not Batman Returns though. I can't think of a single incentive for them to put those out at the stage they're at. I really think it was just a smoke screen like all those 1/4 announcements they threw together that never came to be.

when is SDCC?

Next week. They've been starting to pour out and tease what to expect there (and for the other summer shows),

If they charge $160 for a little, bipedal raccoon guy, there's very little hope of ever getting Batman Returns at prices I can justify.

I want a definitive Begins Bale. Not that TDKR ******** repainted into TDK, but a 2014 Yulli Bale. Begins was his best turn as Bruce and the Bat.

Another Iron man.....seriously?? How many people are actually buying every single version that comes out? One random variation of Iron Man can be outsold by a Keaton Batman right?

Well said.

And you know damn well HT got the new Star Wars licenses for the new movies, so that will delay more things.. Disney should just buy HT and be done with it.

Speaking of Enterbay, have they announced any new movie based figures in any scale since they released Robocop?

Seems like all they have really planned are a bunch of nba releases. Really curious to know how those are selling for them to go so ape crap with producing nothing but nba figs.

I pulled the trigger today on a 1989 Keaton. I was planning on waiting for the Returns version, but I'm beginning to have real doubts it will ever happen. (Plus the more I looked at the Keaton fig the more awesome it became to me, until its awesomeness finally filled all of my vision.)

But please HT, have mercy on us. Throw us a bone. At least give us a Michelle Pfeiffer Catwoman.

I did the same thing but I prefer the 89 suit to any other batsuit as well and if Returns doesn't happen the price on the Keaton figure is going to go quite a bit higher than it even is, I think. It's an incredible figure and worth the money for it though.
