I miss the days of $75-$100 1:6 figures :lol…and I wouldn't say Mattel, maybe more like 2009-10 sideshow quality.
I don't know about that. I have several Joes from that period, and across the board--outfit, accessories, sculpt detail, paint apps, Sideshow wins by a landslide, even if Sideshow was (and is) far behind Hot Toys on that level.

But in fairness, my expectations have changed dramatically over time, while Medicom has pretty much had the same schtick for the last decade. Their Metal Gear Solid 3 figures look very similar to this one in terms of the sculpt quality, paint apps, etc. And the old RAH figures were $150-200+, so really, nothing much has changed on their end. I can only assume that there is a large Asian audience who value RAH figures because they are uniform with all the RAH figures that came before, because they don't seem to have a real audience here in the U.S.

Bottom line though, you won't find a better official 1/6 scale Link, so folks don't really have much choice than to bite the bullet and pay if they want one bad enough.

That's pretty disheartening, glad I didn't bother.

Wait…What I said was supposed to have the opposite effect :lol

I'm very fond of my SS Joes, but in relation to this Link it feels about the same in production values.

And...Yeah, the problem with Medicom is they don't really update or innovate...because they don't need too. They make all their money through vinyl figures and bearbricks. Which have been the same, easily produced items for years. It's visibly reflective in their other lines which is both sad and frustrating.

Also Link is pretty out of scale with other 1:6 figures from HT/SS. He's shorter than everyone else but proportionally it doesn't look right. I'll post some photos later to illustrate what i mean.

I'm not so bothered by the fabric of the tunic. More so the vibrant green of it as opposed to the muted tone of the proto.

Aside from the tunic it looks like a very solid figure, I may get it at some point if it's under retail... which is extremely doubtful.

Well considering everyone keeps saying it costs $250 because of bbts but you can get it shipped from HLJ for like $190, it's already under retail ;)

I'm the opposite. While neither are a big deal to me, if I had to pick something from the prototype I wish was in the final product, color or fabric, I'd pick the prototype fabric. The muted green is better, but the brighter green doesn't bother me.

The brighter green adds abit to the cheapness I think. Not that the tunic really bothers me as it is, but they should have used the proto material

Lazy postman didnt bother to go and knock on the door and I didnt work just to wait for the figure... he just left the pink card on the mailbox so ill get it tomorrow

Even witht he ugly posing on those pics it still looks great

Got mine in today :)

:exactly I think the material wouldn't bother me as much if it was darker or more subtle.

The figure looks great other than all the materials looking extremely cheap. I'd pay around $150 for him but not a bit more.
