Remove the screws from the hip, then remove the lower leg. At that point you can get up inside the hip and squeeze the peg so that the hip slides off.

The legs pop off quite easily at the hips. No tools required. The arm canons pop off easily as well. All you need is a pair of hands.

Does anyone still have the 18" Robo Neca put out a few years ago? Now I've decided to go with Hot toys over Enterbay for the new one, I thought about maybe picking one up cheap for my 1/4 collection, how does he hold up today?

Still a great figure.. but finding one 'cheap' may be a challenge.. MIB on eBay (in the UK) they quite often change hands for almost the same amount as NECA's RRP for their current 1:4 figure releases, approximately £60 to £80.. although compared with HT and Enterbay it's a pretty good price.

Thanks guys for the advice on taking ED apart. So I went ahead and unscrewed the entire figure only to find the leg is attached by a simple (and fragile) prong connector:

I added tiny, very tiny drops of hot glue to the joint surface, and now has enough friction, and the leg is no longer loose.

Since the figure was disassembled, I used the opportunity to shave the back of the ribbed areas behind the hip, and the insides of the arms. This allows ED-209 to rotate to the left and right alot more then stock. I repainted the areas in their respective black and gunmetal colors before reassembly.

Ladies and gentlemen, I bring you the future in law enforcement.......

I plan on adding some paint detail work in the future when i have more time.

I want to repaint my ED-209 in the proper grey color, but for now I will enjoy the cool metallic blue NECA used. To add more definition to the surface details,
I added a thin black wash between all the panels etc.

The wash is thinned down acrylic black paint flowed into panel lines and around engraved details, then the excess is wiped off with a moist cotton bud.
I feel it helps a lot to bring out all the cool surface details and adds more visual interest. With the tightened hip and added torso articulation, ED has become my favorite new addition to my collection.

Sorry badvermin to be so late, but I guess with the help of the fans you got it ;)

In about a week I hope I will get mine , Ive been a bit lucky because I made no preorder and its sold out in every online shop in Spain and I dont think it has hit any street shops. They just attended the preorders and its almost imposible to get it, I was lucky because someone did not pay for his. I will tell you in about a week if finally this guy comes home. 70€ has cost me. If I dont get it I wuy it from the uk where it seems they have more stock, 75€ shipping included and with the change rate.

Wowwwwwwwwww The Neca one looks very well compared to the old HT version

You should ask the vendor for another, it appears the person who attached your figure in e box wasn't careful enough. My first ED had perfect paint but the right arm was split. My replacement was put together ok, but the paint has minor scratches, and glue marks. I feel like there's no winning sometimes.

Use a thin liner brush, and a paint mixture of 30% paint to 70% water with a tiny drop of dish washing liquid to break up the surface tension. You can adjust the ratios as needed. And there are a lot of youtube videos on mixing paint washes.

Hope this helps,

I know how that feels. Sometimes it's like we have to pick the lesser of two evils. :(

I received mine from TRU yesterday. I got a good deal using their 15% of coupon plus free shipping. What an excellent figure, and no issues to speak of on mine. Took some shots this morning....
