I think the size is perfect, but that's just me. Any bigger would be unwieldy, and smaller is not enough. This is just right!

I complained about the QC before, but I'm still just happy to have this bad boy. Although I am still angry about the broken wires on the left elbow...I tried glue and it didn't hold. Damn.

I just watched the turd the movie studio shat out and called "RoboCop" 2014......ugh.

Reconfirmed the fact that the original ED 209 was one of the most fantastic movie robots of ALL time.

He looked amazing, he was bad-***, he was scary, and he was also a piece of crap that didn't work, just like the cars that Detroit was churning out at the time of the movie.

He malfunctioned cause OCP only cared about how he looked not if he actually worked or not. Just like the producers of the new Robocop movie don't give a toss if the movie is actually any good, just if the effects and action look "cool."

Which they didn't.

The new ED 209 design is a boring, soulless rip off of every anime mech we've ever seen. NO personality. Nothing memorable or cool about it. It had scenes in the movie but it didn't do a damn thing. It may as well have been a part of the background scenery, like a gun turret on a wall.

The original ED was memorable. He slaughtered that young executive in the most glorious overkill of all time. He also fell down the stairs and whined like a *****. And finally got his butt handed to him when Robo blew him away with a Cobra cannon. And he looked awesome in the movie cause he was REAL. There was a full size prop on the set...actually physically occupying the space. The stop motion puppet was also REAL. It didn't look fake as hell like a shiny CGI cartoon that you KNOW isn't real, is completely weightless, and ruins the viewer's suspension of disbelief.

Original ED 209 for the effing win!!!

Absolute right!Thats why the old movies are so much better..you can see it at the OT of Star Wars, too.Real props are looking a lot more realistic under lights as the CGI crap. The computereffects are not good enough to cheat the human eyes in a perfect way.

I saw the new Robocop 1 Bluray last week...awesome...the effects are so great and realistic...and that with a so very low budget for the movie.
It must be a shame for the director of the modern CGI Robocop Remake who need so much money for the movie.
The only bad thing that you can see very good on bluray now are the cables for the rockets when ED-209 is fighting against Robocop in **** Jones Office.:lol
But the rest of the effects are really great today, too.

Yeah, it's funny gow you can see the shoes in the underside of Robo's fett when he's gerring beat by ED!

There's just a total lack of personality and charm in these remakes and reboots today. Soundtracks are the biggest one for me, robocop, batman 89, superman etc all had these memorable themes and soundtracks and if you look at their corresponding reboot they have nothing even close

Yes..that is why I show the new movies mostly only one time and never again.
The older movies you can look every week because they have a soul.Great Soundtracks, real Propeffects,NO political correctness..yeah..the good old times!:wink1:
But from the newer movies I can remember Rambo 4 was really good...haha...the only bad thing was the CGI-Blood in some scenes..but overall he had the style of the 80s and shocking brutality.

Oh..here some details of the Neca ED-209:

Another awesome picture man, is this stock or have you given it a paintwash or anything? Just looks like it has more depth and detail and isn't as "plasticky" as some of the other pics I've seen

Yeah thats great you are enjoying him, i think its another great figure from neca.I mean they really are one of the best toy companys, if they lock down there QC issues .Great pics

Thanks...yes,mine has a light paintwash on the details.Sorry I have not mentioned that.
I like the look of the neca promopics so I painted mine the same details.AND my rocketlauncher details are painted screenaccurate...the perforated plate on the side is silver and the rail over the rockets has a green tip.

Out of the box it looks more "toylike" but also awesome:

My first one,too...nice pic..is it the "Battle Damaged Robocop" from Neca or did you painted it?

Does anyone still have the 18" Robo Neca put out a few years ago? Now I've decided to go with Hot toys over Enterbay for the new one, I thought about maybe picking one up cheap for my 1/4 collection, how does he hold up today?

Still got my 1/4 robo. He's stood next to all my other neca 1/4 toys. I love him, for the money you can't go wrong.

I gotta say, I love coming home and seeing this dude on my shelf! It was such a looooooong wait; I honestly never thought it would happen ever since McFarlane dropped the ball on this one.

I'd love to see some comparison pictures....I'm a sucker for seeing different sizes. Any hardcore ED-209 collectors have the Hot Toys V1, Horizon model kit, the Kenner ED 260, and the Kotbukiya tiny figure that could all be lined up for a picture with the NECA ED?

My Horizon and Kenner are back in America...I only have have the NECA and Kotobukiya here....but it'd be cool to see them all in row!
