Trailer was good overall. I agree with others who thought the CGI when he's emerging from the water was a bit iffy, but no big deal.

For some reason my excitement for this film has diminished quite a bit. Not entirely sure why. I just get the feeling it's not going to meet expectations.

Everything still looks very promising though.

Forget about MUTO, this is Rodan!

At this point, why not. My assumption is that the MUTOs are a cross between Mothra and Megaguirus but Hell there may be a giant mutant bird involved as well. They can't use the actual names of the kaiju but they can show us monsters that are basically analogues of them. If we get a sequel, I hope we get a kaiju like Ghidorah.

Big bomber jet then. :lol

Ok fine, it's Rodan's 3rd cousin Mutodan. :lol

Only if a jet that actually has massive legs. I could see that.

Why can't they use, isn't this movie by Toho.

Well no, but seeing as cities are much larger (or taller, rather) now than they were sixty years ago, you need something considerably massive to be intimidating. Imagine if the creature in this movie had the height of the original. It wouldn't look quite like Godzilla going around trampling buildings because today's skyscrapers would dwarf him. To have the same impact the size of the beast has to go up in proportion to the size of the buildings.

If I put spines on the back of my friend's Labrador, he would look exactly like this:

Agreed, but that's a positive for me. Godzilla should look more like a mammal and less like an iguana.;) What we have here is a mammalian-looking dinosaur/reptile creature, which is exactly what we needed. It's not just another random monster, it's a weird hybrid of elements like the original.

Godzilla's tongue motion as the door closes on him kind of creeps me out. Kind of looks like my ex girlfriend when she was about to--nevermind.
