Re: Hot Toys-The Terminator-MMS 238-T-800-(Battle Damaged Version) Collectible Figure

The question is, what is off.

In my opinion the hairs are too short and the face is to wide.

Really? I like the length of the hair. I need to look at screengrabs again but I know its definitely longer than on their previous sculpt which is a big plus in my book. As for the wide face, perhaps. DX13's face is kinda wide looking too. Bit of a trend with Hot Toys, their new Loki and Wolverine have the same thing going on. If there is a problem across all those examples it might not be a case of 'too wide' so much as the face needs to be longer. The classic MMS117 problem.

How they changed that ?

It was cropped/reframed when it was release on DVD, so now you can't see his feet like in the theatrical/vhs release. But even in the fixed version, you can tell he's not wearing the boots.

I'm thinking like DX13 I'll get 4 and then see what I feel like doing from there. Probably just parts for anything else I might want to build.

And they were huge in the 80's and 90's. They make really high end sunglasses.

I bought a pair of Oakley Offshoots recently because they looked similar to the Gargoyles Arnie wears.I loved this film so much.

Defo getting two of these. need to have police shootout and battle damaged Arnie both displayed beside each other!

Woa that photo looks bad! It makes his head look big and his body too small. I really dont like that body they need to use a better one. My only nitpick so far is that body making him look too skiny and too short.

It's a bit of a downshot so it could just be the angle that's making the head disproportionate :)

Could be the new head sizes we're getting. Don't think they bothered to give us a new body while they were at it. I like this though, from pics it looks bad but in hand the dx13 was perfectly proportionate, more so than other figures, at least in terms of real life scale, so I have high hopes this figure will turn out looking better in that sense as well. Everyone has this proportion chart mapped out in their minds about how human proportions are for figures but it's really different when compared to real life.

They have been releasing figures with huge heads lately. Hopefully the body on this guy (or the head size) gets revised.

My DX13 (while awesome) does have a big head.

:lol I've never seen 90% of you guys in any Terminator threads . I hang out in those everyday.
Maybe we will get some more Terminator brothers after the release .

^^^^ And that window display , the photo has wicked bad lens distortion , don't judge it too much . There will be better photos come December :slap:thud::impatient::horror

I agree , but that's because they are scaling the newer figures to a true accurate 1/6 th scale.
I always thought that Sideshow nailed it when it came to 1/6 . Hot Toys scaled it to the people who make the figures (little chinamen) :lol

That photo doesn't worry me. The DX13 is a masterpiece and I have no doubt HT will knock it out of the park with this one either.

Re: Hot Toys-The Terminator (T1) MMS 238 T-800 (Battle Damaged Version) Figure

He looks fine enough to me in that pic.

I just hope they remember to go back to Arnold's physique from T1 (MMS 136) and do not have his body like his T2 build.

Re: Hot Toys-The Terminator-MMS 238-T-800-(Battle Damaged Version) Collectible Figure

I think it is true that the head:body proportions are now more realistic with Hot Toys. It makes for more realistic figures, but oddly, can make figures less aesthetically pleasing. Take the MMS136 bashes we've seen into the Police Shootout T-800. Sure, the heads aren't perfect, but they look like real bad-asses, because the bodies seem HUGE, even bigger than Arnold actually was. Same with Wolverine. When the first Wolvie figure came out, he looked like a total, ripped bad-***. Now, they're using the same body but upsizing the head, and some think he looks comical with his shirt off. Though in reality, that's probably closer to how Jackman actually looks.

so buddy, how many are you buying of this baby...
Pssh, a-dev is a T2 guy. We don't acknowledge his kind around here.

How did P. manage to get himself banned? He's a T1 fanatic and should be all over this thread for the next year.
