Official Sideshow Batman PF

so basically they lied when they said that the one in SDCC13 was a production piece ? because from the few pics that I have seen they look different.

Re: Official Sideshow Batman PF

I wonder if you can pierce the material in the arm pit with a syringe and inject a small dab of glue there to get the material to sit properly.

Re: Official Sideshow Batman PF

While I won't say this is prefect or a Sideshow homerun it is nice and so far the best 1/4 scale Batman available. If you want to see a true train wreck check out the Iron Studios 1/4 Mark 42. It has no fabric all paint application and that my friends is truly a night and day switch from prototype to final product. I just cancelled that one based on the finished statue. Sideshow in my opinion is still the most consistent company out there for the statue collector and that's why even the haters on this still keep coming back to them. Because they get it right most of the time and the truth is that's the most you can ask for.

Re: Official Sideshow Batman PF

I've noticed and it gets old. Especially when SSC keeps churning out substandard pieces. This is a long delayed piece, constantly hyped by SSC and they can't get it right. Now, apparently SSC admits all of this first batch have the armpit sagging issue. And SSC and forum members expect no one to complain or be mad? I'd like to live in that world when my customers kiss my butt all day and say our company does no wrong, if we send out a product that was off the mark. Just as those that love anything SSC does have the right to say it, so do those that are not happy with the lack of Q/C that has gotten worse in the last couple years. Higher prices = higher quality control, but doesn't seem to be SSC business model.

Well, what I hope from all of this is that Sideshow takes a good look at themselves and says that things definitely need to change. They are capable of great things. Things have been too hit and miss in quality for the last two years and it interferes with what people want to collect. Like now I don't need Wonder Woman 'cause I cancelled Supes. Why have Green Lantern and Joker (which both turned out amazing) if Bats is going to get returned or lacks the quality of a high end collectible? Sideshow needs to use the best production factories and make sure this NEVER happens again, like ever. Mary Jane turned out stunning, why didn't Bats? Until they finally admit that they're making big mistakes, nothing will get fixed. Just strictly responding to you (before certain people get up in arms). :)

Re: Official Sideshow Batman PF

Mine will get here on Monday. I am really not a fan of that chin paint job. Hopefully that isn't what we should expect for all of them but it probably will be.

Re: Official Sideshow Batman PF

Honestly,jokes aside,

I´m only worried about:

-neck...
-leg...
-tan...
-logo...

and right arm...

but i think can be fixed......

somehow......

I'm not too happy about the right arm and logo, the rest does not bother me. I think depending on how its displayed, the neck elongation may not be as prominent. The "Indy" tan, maybe that is a piece to piece paint issue or bad pictures.

The glue might seep through the fabric and give him that "sweaty pits" look. Maybe if someone could do a stitch or two somewhere. Maybe with fishing wire so no one sees it. That might somehow make the fabric more taut. :dunno

Re: Sideshow Batman PF?

Yes, that is a positive. :clap

I think everyone can see there is plenty of positive. Great sculpt, great base. Sculpted capes look great. Paint job where there is paint works for the most part save for some missing highlights on his face.

The issue is the fabric. More specifically the seam which is in the wrong place. A little more attention to detail and a crisis could have been averted. Someone at SSC look at these and said, "Good enough". The fact that everything else seems sublime makes this issue all the more jarring.

:goodpost:
One thing that could help them is not overstretching themselves with licenses that are not that much in demand. There's several PF's I've seen announced that I wonder how many people will actually order. I'd rather them spend the time on their marquee pieces as this Batman should be as near perfect as possible. They charged the price for it and they certainly had the time for it. Yeah, my Joker, two Jack Sparrows, and others were fine. But a lot of pieces I followed and cancelled or did not order, didn't fair well. Also, a few pieces I sent back several times and then just cancelled as it was clear that a certain 350 statue just couldn't get true Q/C.

Re: Official Sideshow Batman PF

You've been trolling this thread from day one, belittling anyone who didn't share your personal bias against edition size as kool-aid drinkers and low standard sheep. Now there's a single detail that you don't approve of and you think your opinion has somehow become the last word in good taste.

It isn't. You are getting back what you've given. Suck it up, or continue to demonstrate for us the epitome of obtuse self-absorption. It isn't going to make me a hypocrite to tell you your condescension is rude. Manners are a double edged sword.

No, I'm not. Learn to read.

Oh brother.... :rolleyes2:rip

Re: Official Sideshow Batman PF

Let the mods deal with devil... directly insulting members is derailing the thread.
