I would still like to see these next to a 12" figure to see if they are actually smaller than this prototype or if it was just a mistake in the specs.

The size chart on the specs page at SSC shows them @ 12" tall with knees bent. I'm hoping this is the case and they are an inch or 2 or 3 taller.

Anyone in the UK thinking of ordering the twin set should head over to onesixthbruce, he has managed to get a limited quantity at a reduced price from his suppliers due to the shipping problems they have had recently.

£250 + £15 shipping (expected full price after this qty run out is going to be £290 - £300 plus shipping)

lol Sideshow claims the Batmobile can fit in the palm of your hand.:lol I wouldn't go by what they say. Ignore the specs, Hulk was bigger than his specs. I already posted this in the thread but I saw this guy at Comic con and he dwarfs the humans. He was like Frankenstein. I remember thinking his skin looked really slimy, it was a pretty good effect.

Hawkeye is on a higher shelf here and just barely clears him

This is the same base they ended up giving to Thor. Compare proportions.

Also compare the rifle. Surely the size of the rifle is constant since its already been produced.

Great price...I just don't understand how this set can be Exclusive to Sideshow then.

If you can't afford it that's not Hot Toys problem. They have been targeting the same audience for years & based on their success they won't be going out of business anytime soon.

there is a difference between not being able to afford it, and not seeing the value.

And it IS hot toys problem if enough people see it the same way, but I digress. Also... I think you might need a hankey, you've got something on your nose.

Who said anything about "not seeing the value"? Nobody. The person I quoted made a blanket statement about HT pricing out its customers.

And it doesn't matter how many people may dislike a release, they can sit in stock rooms on pallets for months like Angelica and both Spideys and HT is making more bank than ever before.

You're clearly a clown so go back to the circus :lol

:exactly:
i laugh everytime when people think HTs is going out of business :lol.
Every release people say the same exact thing. Never fails.

The big picture, they are more popular than ever. And they don't need figures to sell out to make profits. And who cares what HTs makes? We don't work for them. We only want them to make awesome figures. And we collect these for the love of the movies and characters. People need to stop worrying about what HTs is making, and what others are buying. If you cant afford something, its ok. Save your money for something you really really want. If Chitauri aren't worth $230 each to you, then its ok. You will survive.:)

Bingo :goodpost: :lecture:

They're from the insane mega hit Avengers. Of course they'll sell.

****, they could probably sell the blonde waitress with no problems. :lol

OOOH! tempting.... how do you know the price of these early releases, Wai's site only lists the deposit?

That's just crazy talk.. she is not an alien and/or wearing battle armor while carrying an enormous weapon!

The price didn't surprise me at all.

DX 13 Terminator is a whopping $315 and doesn't come with anything too crazy to warrant such a ridiculous price. Robocop will be made out of die cast (which I reckon is cheaper than plastic) and is $300 right out the gate. Not to mention an additional $125 for a plastic chair!

The recent Thor figures? They're both barebones and almost identical releases that would cost $460 as a bundle.

It'll only get worse.

I think these guys look pretty awesome, a lot better than I thought they would turn out (I should have known better). If I had gotten the Avengers and I was only getting Avengers, I would jump on these. However, I didn't and there are other lines I like more, so these guys are easy passes for me. I can settle for just looking at pictures from those collectors that did get them. I do think these will look amazing in an Avengers diorama display though. It will be cool to see how people end up displaying their whole Avengers set up.

My trouble is I have an incorrigible army builder gene. I look at these and all I can see is a squad of between 6 and 10, flanking Loki, being trampled by Hulk, duelling with Cap & Black Widow......

Oh, that and the trouble of having no money. :-/
