I don't know why people act surprised at prices like this. It's been par for the course for these figures to be around this range since I've been collecting which has been a little over a year. He doesn't come with a ton of stuff but does have two outfits, multiple hands, and samurai sword which is a pretty decent amount for him.

:exactly:

I have no problems ordering this guy.

Wow. I am really digging the head-sculpt and suit. This is a tempting figure to pre-order.

Isn't that still cheaper than the Tony Starks?

Man i dont buy no Tony... So i dont worry to much about those prices. My view is about 199 odd for MMS is what they should stick to and 250 to 275 for dx. Thts my view and it clearly doesnt matter to hot toys as they have a million buyers!

For me every 20 dollars matters. And they are increasing prices by the year. Dnt be surprised of by 2014 each mms will be default 250

Has it? Batman was $205, Man of Steel Superman is $200, the con exclusives were cheaper, the previous Wolvie was only $10 more but had the huge base. This feels like it should be $200-210 max to me considering the really basic outfit and lack of accessories. Iron Man Mark VII was $25 more, and Hulk and DX13 Terminator are $75 more, yet all are much much fancier than this. . .but it's hard to tell with Hot Toys.

I'll put it this way: I'm MORE surprised when a current HT figure comes in at under $225, like 60s Batman and Robin did.

But most figures that I've bought in that span of time have basically ranged anywhere in the $200 or more mark. It's not a surprise at this point. Not sure why people feel it is. Sure there have been the occasional figures here and there that have been less but it's not been uncommon to see figures at this price point. I think a lot goes into the licensing of the actor too. Guys like Jackman, Downey Jr., and Schwarzenegger can probably demand more for their likeness rights to be used because they are big name actors. Whereas guys like Cavill, West, and Ward while they have played popular characters aren't known for a lot outside of their respective roles.

Pre ordered...my first Wolverine...and the best IMO....a bit pricey but I ain't missing out on this bad boy.

Surprised so many people are shocked at the price.

I mean we have 3 Iron Man figures selling for $310 that are more barebone than this but are simply part metal.

Ordered 2 for safe keeping. Hopefully they don't delay this TOO much.

Yes in that its a cooler look imo, however the last stand is true to that movie and is the most classic look for wolverine.
Eh I don't really like The Last Stand version that much. I never liked the costume designs in the X-Men movies really and Wolvie's jumpsuit deal didn't do much for me design wise. I wasn't a huge fan at first of the wifebeater and jeans look but I like it better for the films. The all black suit looks sharp though. Like the fact that there's an alternative option for this guy too.

I'm pretty sure any Downey likeness is paid for as part of the movie merchandise contract agreements. Keep in mind we see 3 3/4" figures out the wazoo for him, and they don't cost more than any others. Arnold figures are usually about what you expect for the complexity of the figure and options available, sometimes cheaper as with the DX10--it was $230, which seems like a total steal next to this Wolverine. I guess we shouldn't be surprised at higher prices anymore, but this does seem to go against the norm for fairly basic figures without fancy gimmickry or accessorizing.

The partly metal figures. . .are ridiculous. But all of this is just HT charging what people will pay. As folks are willing to pay more, they'll charge more.

So it looks like Wolverine is the only X-Man HT are interested in making.

I wonder if they hadn't already done Thor and Widow and Cap and Iron Man from the solos if they'd have gone all in on Avengers.

Since X-Men is a team rather than teamup they'd need to go all in right off the bat.
