You don't have to go that far back.

The Conjuring was a huge financial hit for WB.

Huge.

Did you see the cost of production and box office.

Yeah, but those Rated R hits depend on low budgets to make a big profit.

Who knows how much cash they could have saved if they cut out the big CGI Samurai... and the bear lol.

I didn't even see kids in any of my 2 screenings now that I think about it, I saw a whole lot in MoS and PR.

Wolverine isn't really that much of a kids' figure is it?

Not that much. It would still be pretty expensive. Something like Wolverine wouldn't be anything but a big tentpole summer blockbuster.

Probably not now. But he used to be, I guess. I don't think Kids really care about movies or toys any more. It's all about tablets and video games.

I'm going to stand with Frank on this one. If they would have went with the over the top violence like 300 I think it would have done better. That movie was a huge hit.

It also had Frank Miller's name all over it. And it came out 2 years after Sin City, which also, was a hit. Right at the height of the comic book movie craze.

R-Rated comedies are the big thing now. Not so much action movies.

It might have worked. But it's hard to say.

The thing is, The Conjuring cost about 3 million bucks. So, it was going to be a hit no matter what. Not to mention name recognition as well from James Wan.

Elysium is a decent hit, but that's due to Neill Blomkamp's name, along with District 9.

Some times R-Rated films hit. But for something like Wolverine, whom kids love, that wouldn't work. Their parents wouldn't take them to a bloody violent film. Some would. But for the most part, no.

I wouldn't use Elysium and hit in the same sentence. :lol

A R rated Wolverine would prolly make Blade type money. I still think he isn't a public favorite. My wife likes Jackman (lol what chick doesn't?) but would not have even considered watching Wolverine movies without me.

Well, it's number 1 this weekend. It beat the R-Rated Comedy Movie, and the other kids movies that are currently out.

It ain't great. But it's decent.

This made me laugh till it hurt. :lol

Who the hell releases a hard R Punisher movie right before Christmas. :lol

Lionsgate does, thats who.

If it didn't have that hokey Bush rant in it (sure people agree, but by then it was done to death), and you take out Jigsaw's hokey frog brother, I think it would've been more successful. Honestly, do a big screen version of Circle of Blood and release it ON Christmas day, even with a hard R, and watch the money roll in. **** Santa, kids, lets go see Castle kill some douches! :lecture

In the politically charged atmosphere we have today about assault weapons, Punisher might actually have a field day of free publicity. :lol

Get Jim Carrey to rage on Twitter about it. Make it as insanely blood spattered as Thomas Jane's short film (not cartoonish) and I'd go see it.

I second this.

This whole X men movie continuity is so ****ed up, and I was never fully sold on Jackman as Wolverine, only in the 1st X-men, that's it.

REBOOT IT! :lol

There's nothing wrong with Jackman's portrayal of Wolverine. He's got to work with what they give him.

I sat beside a family that had about 5 kids and the one beside me had to be all of 4. There were a bunch of kids in there. I would've never taken a 4 year old girl to see that.
