So will we see a sculpt revealed at what ever Con is going on now?
We didn't see it at SDCC.
I hope it looks good,I really want to add this to my Iron Man collection.
The new suits they're showing are just last desperate money grabs from Iron Man 3.

Actually yes, there was an alternate ending to IM2. Unforunately, it doesn't include this version of Whiplash. It actually takes out the need for it completely. Interesting to see Tony's under suit though.

I love stuff like this! and really loved Whiplash's "Grunge" look. I've never been that impressed with the released figure, it's OK, but articulation suffers with the harness and it's so damn fragile!!!!!!

This video inspired me to see if I could "whip up" a quick bash with just the stuff on my desk......

Ah ha! Luckily for us my desk is a treasure trove of useful kitbash fodder!

Sorry they're all late night, grainy iPhone shots, but it kinda ands to the mood..... well that's my excuse for being a lazy arse :nana:

Bash recipe:

1 Hot Toys Indiana Jones Muscle Body.
2 Knock off Wolverine outfit for Jeans and Wife Beater
3 3A Zombie Boots
4 3A Inky Tommy Hoodie
5 Sideshow T-800 Leather Jacket
6 Hot Toys Whiplash Head & Hands

Stir together, bake for 15 minutes and voila! One mean Mutha Cake! :)

About the price tag; whilst i understand that hot toys figures these days are freakishly overpriced, i don't understand how 3A can release a 14 inch, armored spartan with light up features and magnets for a little over 200 and hot toys can't do the same for IW.

I mean i doubt he'll come with any accessories to speak off, unless they include a base just to jack up the price.

i'm optimistically hoping for something in the neighborhood of 250.

Its not that they cant, its why not. If you were HT why wouldn't you be selling these pieces for as much as you can. If people are willing to pay then how can you blame them?

And as for price, I stick with $300+, if it is diecast, then $350+.

Personally I think the prices are generally pretty fair and related to the figure's size and complexity. I don't really get the impression that HT purposefully gouges the collector. Many times they're quarter the price of a good custom and are designs that only a big company like them could manufacture. I think it's a fairly happy medium between cheap toy manufacturers and customs.

Agree here. I think many people overlook the complexity of the Iron Man figures specifically when comparing their price point to other 1/6. The armors require so many small, medium and large armor parts per limb, per figure. It's not like they can just crank out a hat, jacket, shirt + pants and slap them on a body like many other figures.

Good custom sculpts go for over $100 unpainted regularly. If you want a full figure you're looking at $750-$1000, the cost of 3 IM figures at retail.

Goes on display tomorrow at the Taiwan Beast Kingdom Show. Wish they would announce these figures already.

Honestly, I kind of hope this turns out way out of my price range, cause then there are some other 1/6 stuff I can turn my attention too.

But even if it's just barely affordable for me it i'd still get it.

In Whedon's "opinion," lightning can apparently supercharge Tony's suit instead of just frying him like it probably should have. I'd take any fight between heroes in these films with a grain of salt and not actually representative of any of their full powers.

Let's be real here, if Thor wanted to he could have zapped every single one of the Chitauri with lightning and defeated the invasion singlehandedly.

That entire scene was a poorly written attempt to have the heroes fight each other purely for fan service.

The whole fight between IM and Thor was more a battle of ego's than a fight to the death imo. Lets face it those two have massive ego's, the movie versions anyway.

They've shown this thing off forever now. When are they officially going to give it an MMS number? Geezzz....

I know nothing about what goes into getting hold of licenses for films. Wouldn't HT have to pay more for Iron Man license as opposed to say Green Hornet(Seth Rogen)? Could the cost of the license have something to do with cost? Seems like Eric Draven is pretty fair priced to me, but if that was Tony Stark with the same stuff included it would be more wouldn't it?

This is a figure that will stick out on the shelf fan or not of the character or movie.

So there's another Con going on and again they've shown this figure.
They still haven't shown a head sculpt though.
I'm getting worried.
If there's no Mickey Rourke sculpt it's going to be a pass for me.
