Hmmm, how come the MKVI looks to be about the same height as your MKVII? Most of the pics I've seen of them together shows the MKVII being a bit taller.

I had my camera on a tripod about four feet away so there was no lens distortion.
Perhaps if the MKVII looks taller in other pics, there's a lens distortion issue.
Or perhaps there's some other effect at work.
It has to be said that, with the helmets on, the MKVII is about 4mm taller than the MKVI.

Is it really necessary? I mean have there been a lot of leakage problems in the past? I've been leaving those little tabs in when I don't have the lights on, I'm not sure if that helps at all though.

Yes. Eventually, over time, the batteries will leak. It might not happen for a couple of years, but they will eventually start to corrode. If you don't use the lights at least once every couple of weeks, take the batteries out. Its not worth the risk on $200 collectibles, IMO.

I've pulled ones that weren't even a year old (from the time I got it from SS) and they were already leaking green acid. If you're not planning on using the feature "A LOT", and just displaying it for months behind glass; take them out. You can find the proper size screw driver at most craft department or auto stores; don't try using anything else. The screws are a b***H to remove and replace if you round out the head.

Also, the standard batteries are rubbish anyway.
I have taken maybe 100 images of my MKVII with the eye lights turned on, and the lights are already really low!

I've got an Iron Man Mark VII on pre-order and he will be my first experience with Hot Toys.

Do the batteries come installed in the figure? I guess I should open and remove if I store him?

Also, for those of you who have one, will the Mark VII perform the landing pose?

1st off, welcome to the boards

2nd, yes the batteries come installed in the figure, but with plastic tabs you have to remove.

3rd, yes I would recommend removing the batteries after you have enjoyed playing with the light up features.

Have fun, and enjoy this new addiction. Hot Toys are like potato chips, you cant have just one once you have your 1sf.
