This is bull crap! The two theatres nearest me are only showing the movie three times on Friday, 10:55, 5:10, and 11:45, but they're showing Grown Ups 2 like 10 times! What's up with that? Is Pacific Rim being set up to fail?

I'm being realistic. The first one made a killing, and this one will make a bigger killing.

So, they are pretty much saying we're getting 4 weeks of flops? Surely SOME movie will have to dominate the market, right? Is that really just going to be Despicable Me an Grown Ups 2? Uggggggh.

Well, whatever. I'm going to Pacific Rim and I'm going to enjoy it. I suspect.

So will I..I just see poor box office. RIPD looks great but also will flop most likely......Hollywood is on a roll...
Guess all films from now on will be CGI kid's comedies:slap or Marvel superhero films

That's what sells today.

Kids movies and branding.

Does anyone give a **** what "Todd Cunningham at The Wrap" says? :rolleyes2

I certainly don't.

I'm seeing Pacific Rim on Friday and I'm sure I'll enjoy the movie.

If things go the way they're being predicted, enjoy the film while you can, you probably won't get another original niche genre film again for a long time.

Until maybe...like..Transformers 4. :lol

Agreed.......big risk "original" movies will become fewer and fewer.......

At some point a big Marvel superhero movie isn't going to do well....law of averages ...going to happen

It's already begun. Man of Steel fell pretty hard after it came out. It made a lot of money, and wasn't a flop, but it didn't have staying power. So we'll see. But then again, Iron Man 3 made so much. So I don't know.

Yeah but Iron Man had two movies before it and the Avengers, so part 3 was definite money in the bank! Man of Steel gave us a Superman that no one was used to and it suffered for it.

Well, most people liked that Superman. I would say it gave them the Superman film they wanted...but they didn't want another Superman film.

For those that have seen this already, my 5 and 7 year old boys want to see this. Any thoughts on why this wouldn't be a good movie for them. They aren't afraid of monster movies and stuff like that and this looks like just good robot vs monster fun.
