If that's the case I'd be just the sucker to re-buy them all. But I foresee there'd be lots of the new heads hitting eBay as replacement parts.

Maybe SS should outsource the heads to HT, and co-brand like the armored figs?

That's the thing. People will be pissed having to buy a better version so the new heads will become a hot commodity on places like eBay and Toy Anxiety. Probably another reason why Sideshow has recently curtailed their orders to eliminate competition.

But honestly, I really love this young Obiwan.. why? I don't know ..
And standing him side by side with his master Qui Gon is priceless to me.. Feels like bring back the memories while I was watching TPM with my college friends in year 1999 ago ..

We shouldn't be comparing prices between any companies, HT,EB,UU,Medi whatever. We should just be comparing sculpts.

The extra cash involved is usually an indication of a massive amount of accessories or a bit of a rip off. That's up to the buyer really. But... thing is ALL of these companies are expensive enough now to give us top notch headsculpts and paint apps. None of these companies are charging small amounts of money that would justify a quick and cheap factory paint job.

And using 300$ Luke as an argument as to why this doesn't look better doesn't hold water.
1. Take a 300$ DX Luke set.
2. Take out half of the set. Is what you get for 150$, even comparable to the quality of this SS release? No, it not.

SS just don't have the manufacturing infrastructure yet to make these things top notch, even if they charged 300$, I don't believe they could do it.

You have to compare prices, that is the value you are getting. If Sideshow was charging the same amount of money for the lower quality, then you would have a every reason to complain.

As someone mentioned earlier, Hot Toys concentrates mostly on 1/6 and it shows, but look what happens when they branch out, their quality suffers. Now, take SS, they have Statues, 1/6 figures dioramas, their staff can only go so far. For what I understand they only have 2 people in development in the 1/6 scale items. And, there lies the problem. Like I said earlier, you guys talk as if SS themselves make the figures, they dont, they use a company in China that makes them.

As far as the Luke goes, HT didnt develop 2 figures, It was only 1 with 2 heads. If HT would have offered 1 figure, you know darn well it would not have been 150.00.

I think we need to differentiate between headsculpt quality and overall package. If this figure had a top current level headsculpt, I wouldn't care about anything else. SS did their very best with this, regardless of price.
