Looks like 42 is diecast too. I don't foresee HT doing plastic versions any time soon after seeing these. :( Thus ends my completest Marvel mentality.

Sallah

Well we were already paying $ 250 for the Mark 7 so it was only natural that the price would go up I don't think we could have returned to the day of figures being $ 200 and below.

I think it looks great but I'd like to see a plastic MMS IP version next to it for comparison. Is the diecast material really worth the extra bucks and not to mention the non-existing accessories?

Well we are assuming that it needs battle damage accessories. but none of the Trailer show a damaged Iron Patriot only the Mark 42 is all beat up and I am seriously hoping that Hot Toys will give us some Battle Damage parts for the Mark 42 even thought its probably a long shot.

Yeah I think the days of Iron Man Armor in plastic is over I personally thought the first offering of the Die Cast Series would be a the Mark 3 rerelease which they hinted and in the advertisement I was surprised to see how far they have gotten along in developing their Iron Man 3 line.

What he said. I love the Tamashii 3PO. If it was like that then I would be all in.

I want to know what parts are metal, and how are they going to handle the paint apps. Look at some peoples Cpt Shields.

I'm starting to think by these descriptons that the new IM figures will end up something like the Master Piece Transformers Takara produces. They are a mix of both plastic and metal. If so, I'm still in since it works for those figures!

:exactly: :lol

Like I’ve posted before, Hot Toys, then you start seeing pre-orders coming in, you’re going to know you shot yourself in the foot with this idea; believe it.

Why Doll? Too many pre orders? Or too little?

I actually think HT priced it low enough to get people buying. Yeah it's more than peeps want to spend, but it's not out of price range. Even with all the potential problems with a diecast figure (paint chips, rust, loose joints) that I've been reading about, I'm still pretty excited & curious about getting this.

I'm really, really, really hoping that SSC has this (and other diecast) figures at SDCC in July to look at and preferably hold/feel.

Although if it sells out before then, why bother?

i kinda agree with you Lawrence.

Its more, but its not obscenely more..

with predictions bring thrown around of $400... $310 was a nice surprise :p

BBTS pre-orders are flying out the door, but i think a lot of people will simply be reserving one with the option of cancelling quite notable.

i for one don't care about die cast, what does it add?
it looks the same as a plastic figure, but its heavier.

its V1 for HT so the risk of issues is high.

i'm curious, but i certainly wouldn't hesitate to cancel the PO given a reason.

less fragile. the only thing you have to worry about breakage on DC figures like these are the joints which are a plastic ratchet type and usually easily replaceable if need be.

the plastic IM figures have less then a mm of plastic in some places to accommodate sculpts and the inner workings that you cant see are just as fragile

Disabled and living on a fixed income, money is always tight and I have a budget that every time I go over it, it causes my family financial problems so there is a limit I can pay for a figure, and without discounts or anything left to use I just can’t afford the extra amount added for Die-cast figures. As it was I had enough rewards to knock almost $100 off Hulk or I wouldn’t have him ordered, Iron Monger was a lesson well learned when the refrigerator stayed almost empty (We don’t get food assistance) for a month. If I was still working buying these things would have been a breeze, but what happened to me at work wasn’t a covered injury and Lawyers would touch my case with a ten foot pole because of who they would have had to go up against. So I collect less than half of what I earned working, and my wife works for only a little over minimum wage. If I could give this hobby up I would, but it’s what I’ve been doing since I was five (I turn 50 in a few months), and I just can’t give it completely up.

Even considering that its a hobby you've been doing since you were a kid, it's also something to considering putting your actual family before giving your figures a thought. I don't mean that in a sense that you don't consider your family, because its clear that you do but I personally just think it would be more beneficial to sell some figures and take care of expenses in the house before trying to scrap money for these figures. Seeing that these figures aren't going to disappear off the face of the planet any time soon.

What does a diecast figure add? Other than the expected weight gain, I don't know, & that's part of the reason why I want one. I don't know what it's like, but I want to know. I guess I'm paying for the figure, & the experience :D

This might be the cheapest retail price HT will ever go for a diecast figure. Seems like a good chance to cure some curiosity, before they price them ridiculously if they get popular among collectors.

& your right. It's v1, so who knows what problems this figure will have. Still want :D

Interestingly... if you look at the 1/4 scale busts, the IP one is more expensive then the WM/42...

interesting to see if that transfers to the figures when they're finally anounced

I wonder why that is? Maybe it's based on popularity :dunno I think IP might be the cooler looking one out of the 3. I'm still not that much of a fan of the Mk42, but that might change after I see the movie :D

Sorry to hear about your financial situation. I guess I meant that if you were buying say the MkVII at $250, & similarly priced figures, then a $50, or so, price increase wouldn't be too much of a stretch for some. Even if it's not a comfortable stretch.

You sound like you shouldn't really be collecting so much right now.

New Magazine scan says diecast Iron Man Mark I is in production (left side, with picture of diecast Mark I chest)

Seriously...? They're doing a Mark 1 3.0? A big PASS for me. I honestly think it's a waste for them to do it. How many people will pick it up when the 2.0 version is going for $200?

MARK 3 2.0 please..We really don't need a Mark 1 3.0 when 2.0 is still on the market.

Pretty sure they hinted that they're doing a Mark 3 in Diecast. Will be picking that up to complete my collection but why a Mark 1?

really? that's fast for them to revisit the old armor especially the mark1 :cuckoo: an easy pass for that, if they said the mark3 diecast was in production then that would be a good news

wait a minute, is that pic on the top left there the mark3 armor(headless) standing on the hall of armor? is it ht? now i'm confused :lol if only someone can translate this

It looks to be a lifesize model for the movies, not Hot Toys.

You can see a guy standing next to a life size grey model mark suit as well.

Hmmm... It almost looks like their developing 1:1 replica armor. :horror
