Yeah, it does make it tougher. Maybe wait it out, Viking, and buy on the secondary market from someone on the boards. I would think this issue would guarantee that the figure will not appreciate. At the same time... it's still very impressive in-hand and it's likely something you'll never notice. Definitely no-one unfamiliar with HT would ever spot it, even if they handle the beast.
It goes to show why this issue wasn't noticed for over a year of the figure being out. Issue shouldn't be there in the first place but it seems to not have a long term effect on the figure itself.

regardless of the flaws, if someone wants a 1/6 scale Monger, where else are they going to get one?

it'll appreciate, possibly not at a high rate, but even pink panty Mk III's go for small fortunes on ebay.

I checked my Iron Mongers out earlier today for the QC issue that others have been having. Still I can not see the flaw. Mine appears to be fine. Again I have moved and posed them both quite a bit. I guess I was just one of the lucky ones. :dunno if it was just a bad batch or something.

Really sorry to hear that some of you are having this issue.
Thanks, Firebird, but I'm glad to hear you got a clean one. I was quite relieved, myself, at first -- until I put Monger under the Kleig but I'm kinda lucky, too, because the cracks are truly hairline. I don't think adding glue in my case would even help as there is nothing to fill. So it's one of those things where knowing about it bugs you (honestly wish I'd stayed ignorant of it, lol) but in the end, it'll be fine.

Yeah, true enough. Damn that poster's eagle eye!

I'll be happy so long as the cracks do not get progressively worse with time. I'm cautiously optimistic it'll be alright as long as it's treated gently.

Yeah, guess that's true. I'm probably projecting my views on the hobby too much. I won't buy a new red/gold Iron Man until that fading codpiece issue's proven fixed (thinking maybe a diecast might be the way to go in the future) and would likewise never buy a new Cap due to the shield flaking, nevermind used.

Buying from another board member that can confirm there are no flaws is probably the best way to go. I highly doubt the BBTS will inspect one for me prior to purchasing. :dunno

I get the impression that they don't, as I suppose it opens them up for more problems if they happen to miss any flaws and then ship.

Someone here must have cancelled the order after reading what you guys have posted earlier.. :lol
Wheeewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww! We ran off a fellow collector! *starts shootin six-shooters into the sky* Wheeeeeeewwww!

Yeah I got cracks on my hips as well small though nothing big at all I am not sure if they were there from the beginning or not

Let's see some more pics of this newly discovered issue. I'm curious to know if all of the figures are about the same or if these stress fractures vary from piece to piece. Again, I'm so disappointed. :monkey2

Great pics, Cyber. Thing just is one of a kind in 1:6 and pics like this do make me glad I picked him up. Can't wait till we move and I can finally display this stuff!

Thanks man... I figured I would try to take everyones mind off of the thigh issue. It is just too nice to miss out on.

My friend had one crack on the front right of his thigh. The one I got had both REAR thighs cracked. Here are my pics again...They're almost an half inch long

Shipping mine back today and hopefully will get a better one

I noticed my IM's crotch cracking back in December. Sent it back and got a new one. Haven't had a chance to check it yet.

just checked mine out and it is cracked on the right side only, has anyone tried contacting hot toys about this

Hell i wouldn't pay $300 for a fig that has cracks right out of the box, no matter how much i wanted it. Its the same thing that happened with the DX02, I found it incredible that peeps knew it was leaking and problematic and STILL went out and purchased it.
Im curious though, is the crack on a joint that would detach the leg if it broke from side to side, or is just an outter portion of the joint?

Watch out now. You gotta watch out for all of the people that defend HT for their crap. Don't you know? Somehow it's all your fault. Not Hot Toys! The price is well worth it and Hot Toys barely makes a profit, therefore they can't fix their quality control problems due to their overwhelming union laws with their laborers. Don't you know also, what cost $130 now costs $300 due to their new changes. What those changes are, we have no idea. Maybe its the high cost condos they give their laborers.
Just remember, it's your fault! Nobody else here to blame!
