I have to be honest and say that this issue doesn't really bother me or take away from just how awesome this figure is. I really have had no worries that these cracks will get any worse, especially after I made my super glue and paint fix.
I noticed this on mine, but never posted it as I didn't think it was a big deal and I didn't realize it was so prevalent.

I am in no way saying that others should feel the way I do though.
Do you have any thoughts of posting up a more detailed look at your fixed? Getting mine this Thursday and I might do a fix if it's as simple as you state.

I think it'll be fine either left as-is or with a small touch-up. I have a pretty good eye for detail and had to look a few times under the right light until my eyes could re-focus and spot the cracks -- they're that small. Don't think it would dissuade me from buying again, to be honest.

I agree that this issue is minor enough that it would probably be fine if just left like it is. Even moving the legs for reposing.
I just did the glue thing to put my mind at ease.

To be honest again, I actually was more worried when I first got him and his knees were so stiff, I thought i was going to break them trying to bend them. After I got them to move the first time, they were much better after. Must have been some new paint sticking at the knee joints.

All in all this is a solid BEAST.

Here are some pics I took. Keep in mind these are super close and with a bright *** flash.
Also added some regular pics, just for fun.

Sorry for any poor pic quality issues, as these are with my cell phone.

wow, nice fix there, really hid the crack well.. r u using a special kind of glue? or just a normal superglue?

edit: opps..i see u use glue and paint..noted ;)

Thanks. I could have taken more time to sand and paint more, to get it just right, but it works. It is much less noticable then the stress cracks were.

I took mine out of storage and what do you know I found the same cracks on the hips. I didn't see them when I took him out of the package and I don't think I would of ever noticed them until I read this thread. I really hope monger's hips don't break down over time. Unlike a lot of board members here I don't have a ton of hot toys, but now I'm going to be pretty hesitant when pre-ordering.

Yeah, no question it is hugely disappointing at this price... It's a very weird hobby in that you don't really get what you pay for, a lot of times, it seems.

Too many QC issues. It does come down to what you can live with though. Lets see, my Watchman Comedian melted, Leaky DX02 batman, star not aligned right on my Captain America, Major box damage on my DX12, uke instead of Luke, peeling Captain America shield.....

Took a closer look at mine and it turns out I have some very small cracks on one hip that I didn't notice before. Right at the top of the hip so they are well hidden and not noticeable at all.

This concerns me a bit as far as the long term value on this piece. I wasn't planning on making a profit but I do want to be relatively sure I can get the retail price back out of it when it comes time to move on. Will have to decide this week if I just want to return to BBTS or exchange it and hope the one I get isn't even worse.

Watch out now. You gotta watch out for all of the people that defend HT for their crap. Don't you know? Somehow it's all your fault. Not Hot Toys! The price is well worth it and Hot Toys barely makes a profit, therefore they can't fix their quality control problems due to their overwhelming union laws with their laborers. Don't you know also, what cost $130 now costs $300 due to their new changes. What those changes are, we have no idea. Maybe its the high cost condos they give their laborers.
Just remember, it's your fault! Nobody else here to blame!

Consider yourself lucky and keep it. Mine has small cracks as well. Unnoticed except when under the scrutiny of a surefire flashlight. I don't think minor imperfections such as these will devalue the piece. Some are worse than others, and as someone already said this appears to be because of assembly. I doubt this will affect the piece long term, but I shall wait and see.

We shouldn't have to wait and see. For what we pay, it shouldn't happen, period!

Yeah, it does make it tougher. Maybe wait it out, Viking, and buy on the secondary market from someone on the boards. I would think this issue would guarantee that the figure will not appreciate. At the same time... it's still very impressive in-hand and it's likely something you'll never notice. Definitely no-one unfamiliar with HT would ever spot it, even if they handle the beast.

I checked my Iron Mongers out earlier today for the QC issue that others have been having. Still I can not see the flaw. Mine appears to be fine. Again I have moved and posed them both quite a bit. I guess I was just one of the lucky ones. :dunno if it was just a bad batch or something.

Really sorry to hear that some of you are having this issue.
