Has anyone seen this before? Definitely a different sculpt.

Has anyone actually seen of these in stores? Some nutcake on NECA's fb page today is claiming he picked one up from TRU, but only reposted the picture above to support his claim.

Seems a slightly open mouth is always the preferred option with Biehn sculpts. McFarlane did it and NECA have done it now both with Reese and Hicks.

I recently went through T1 for stills to inspire photos, and the open mouth is actually seen more with Biehn throughout T1 than you might think, it's the right choice to give the sculpt that, kudos to NECA's sculptor for picking up on that. I'll have to watch Aliens again to see if he does it there as much.

Not a fan of the closed mouth sculpt tbh. While not perfect either, the released version looks better.

I got this a little while back and I got to say the likeness is a lot better in person.

the way the eyes, face are painted ,screws up the sculpt and likeness, a very bad cheap paint job.neca is getting cheaper and cheaper, they need to sell these at the dollar tree, instead of toysrus.

Damn, :lol. They're not that bad. You shouldn't expect much for a $15 figure.

The eyebrows are :lol

That's what screws up the likeness, everything else looks great. The eyebrows on the prototype were painted right above his eyes like they should be, and on the finished product they are placed way too high on his forehead.

The eyes are poor even for a $15 figure, the problem is for whatever reason, they didn't paint the whites white or something, the whites of the eyes are basically flesh tone and the iris is almost the same tone, so there's no definition to them, other than shadow from light, they're almost lost against hte rest of his face. NECA's done better work.

:dunnoThey look fine on my figure. What looks strange to me are the teeth, those I can definitely tell are flesh colored. Overall I thought the paint was really good.

The eyebrows are straight retarded looking. :lol

Teeth and eyes are flesh coloured on mine. Theres barely even any colour off the irises. Although, the eyes are surprisingly neatly painted unlike most of T-800s many of which have wonky eyes with more white in one eye than the other, white painted onto eyelids etc etc.

anyway you cut it, kyle reese had bad qc on his paint job and makes him look like a dollar tree toy.

I've seen a ton of Kyle Reese (atleast 20 at Toys R Us) and checked them all. Some are poorly painted, some are not. T-1000 was like this as well. I saw quite a few Pescadero T-1000 figures that had these sort of "pasty" faces, really bad pale, matte colored faces. Some even lacked eyebrows completely.

The Reese I picked up is perfect. The eyes were impressive, the eyebrows aren't high like that and the 5 o'clock shadow is perfectly painted. Unfortunately, the shot gun is warped from the trigger to the end of the barrel. I was looking for good paint apps and ended up getting a dud gun.

I will admit, for every 2-3 great ones I've seen, I saw even more duds.

Sounds like a consistency issue.

It doesn't bother me much as the figure itself is so small he looks great on display, but I do have my thoughts on why the likeness may seem off to people seeing photos and at least on the one I got, the eyes are where it gets lost. Biehn's got crazy eyes and the paint job on mine looks more tranced.
