Actually, the SSW GtG Bust. Is this one any better? I recall that one being a beauty. Is the consensus that this ones better?

I never got the SSW GtG bust because I got the statue but I think this one looks pretty nice! I like the fact that it's not life-sized but it is still large. I ordered one and I look forward to seeing it at SDCC!

Because of the lower price the edition size will probably be larger... just my guess on that subject. While I have not read all 22 pages of this fast moving thread and someone may have already brought this up, on the subject of hat placement ----------- I just watched the scene of Gandalf entering Hobbiton in the cart and his hat is placed higher on his head just like this bust depicts it. So it is accurate - at least as far as the initial debut scene of that character goes.

Hat high or slightly lower is no matter to me, this is simply iconic. Sir Ian in a very good likeness with pipe, interchangeable staff and arms. No name plate either lends to it's display qualities.

The really big plus for me though, is that it is of a manageable size. This will take up less space than a PF.

I watched FOTR this afternoon. Gandalf's hat is all over the place in the cart scene. It's mostly lower, which IMO looks better, but there are a few cuts of him with the hat up pretty high.

So far the LS edition size has never exceed 1000. Hopefully the max will stay at 1000 too.

Question to you guys. I want to add a Gandalf bust to my collection, but I don't know which to get. Do you guys think that this bust or the SSW Gandalf The Grey bust would be better to add? Thanks.

Depends on how much space you have. If you have a lot of room this bust will be a lot more impressive than the SSW one. If your space is very limited then the SSW is still a great little bust. The GG is even smaller with a great likeness and a light up staff feature.

While that is a possibility, it would be a HUGE diversion form the norm for the Legendary Scale line. There hasn't been a single bust so far with an ES larger than 800. But then, $149.99 is also the lowest price they have had on one, so who knows?

I'm going with an ES of 1000.

The highest ES is actually the cave troll bust at 750. SS announced they were changing the ES of the ML from 600 to 800, but since mine is numbered out of 600 I'm assuming they changed their minds and went with the original ES.
