Hot Toys RoboCop Project 2012

Maybe I'm missing something here, but I'm digging the new suit. In defense of the colour, cops in a lot of municipalities wear all black. It's intimidating, and it doesn't draw a lot of attention, useful when you're trying to fly under the radar. As for it looking like a guy in a suit, remember how stupid Chris Evans looked on the set of the Avengers? I'm sure it will look better on screen. As for the lack of bulk, perhaps the armour is sufficiently protective as thin as it is. I mean look at bullet proof vests. They're super thin cloth, and they stop bullets. A futuristic cyborg would no doubt be made of futuristic materials that are allowed to be thin without me having to suspend my disbelief completely. The one thing that bugs me is that nowhere on his body does it designate him as a cop. He should say police on him somewhere, or have a barcode badge or something.

As I mentioned before, this suit has NO intimidation factor. As for trying to "flying under the radar", the real Robocop wouldn't cared for that. He'll just bust in through the front door and get up in your face, which is exactly the main reason he was made. No reason to hide or sneak around.. That's what made Robo intimidating to bad guys, when Robo arrived...... sheeit just got real...

If this is the final suit, I really hope the story will cary this movie enough to distract that horrible design.

I absolutely loved that scene! No way will they be able to top the original Robo! He's simply a sci-fi classic at its best!

I just hope this new Robo doesn't turn out to be a complete bust (no pun). And you are correct, the new suite does nothing for me and looks like a regular riot cop rather than an unstoppable machine!

Just watched the first one again and even though it has been years, it was just as awesome as when I was a kid. I can't wait for this figure to come out; it will be nice to have something to replace the 12 inch version I had when I was younger!

Thanks for the video. Peter Weller...they could not have picked a better Actor for the role of playing Robocop. It is a shame that I can only think of a handful of movies I loved him in: Robocop 1 + 2, Naked Lunch, and Firstborn.
I wonder why he was cast in such horrible B rated movies? With his talent he should have played in much better movies. My Father told me he was in a decent movie called "Screamers"...so I decided to check it out. The only thing tolerable in this movie was Peter Weller; the rest of the movie IMO was God aweful.
I really do hope this new Robocop remake ends up being a good movie...I just cannot see it even coming close to the original...and so far like others have mentioned, the new Robocop suit looks almost identical to Batman in the Dark Knight.
