Re: 1/6 Hot Toys MMS 186- Avengers: Hulk- official specs and pics

Exactly i see a billion Heath Ledger joker head sculpts and full custom figs being made and been made, selling for ridiculous amounts of money and people pay it. Would i pay a fraction of that for any ledger figure, no because i dont want him in my collection regardless of how awesome he was.

You bring up a good point about customs. I see tons of customs sell for close to or over a GRAND, but thats justified? Give me a break.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys MMS 186- Avengers: Hulk- official specs and pics

There's only two things stopping me from getting this.

1. The arms. I don't want PVC or rubber arms theat are at a risk of cracking deteriorating because there isn't a cut joint.

2. No dio base

Exactly so people who pop in here and go $300 for that pfft your crazy most probably dont want this figure anyway. So their input is pointless as far as i'm concerned.

Some people want this figure but cant afford get pissed with everyone and everything and lash out.

Some people just like to get attention and wind people up. But their sad and i dont take em even slightly seriously.

Some of us who this is a grail fig for and argue about this and that do it because we want what it for our own personal taste. I didn't want rubber but as the price is fair i can live with it.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys MMS 186- Avengers: Hulk- official specs and pics

Don't want this then worried when should I sell it to avoid loseing my money.

This is me, i would prefer not to have rubber but i can't miss out on this figure especially after i've waited so long for Hulk to get this kind of premium figure. All i need now is for Ultron to appear in the MCU and then i'll know eventually i'll have my 3 dream figures from Hot Toys.

Hulk, Thanos & Ultron. And if a Vision ever happens that'll be a cherry on top.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys MMS 186- Avengers: Hulk- official specs and pics

Swagmasterhulk!! :monkey1

I'm getting this just because it's The Hulk, in more ways than one the best part of my favorite movie of the year.. Which at the end of the day, isn't that's why we're buying all these figures?

And not to mention, my favorite hero! :wink1:

He toned up when he posed for Hot Toys. I'm only guessing.:lecture

I know what you mean, but in some scenes he appeared a little more ripped than others. One thing about Hulk, you can make him too fat and it won't look right, but he can't ever be too ripped.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with it.

The studio designers said when the Hulk is stressed or is straining, his muscles are more visible than when he's relaxed.

I PO'ed from sideshow. Yes I'm an addict. I think it looks awesome. Love everything they did. Could it be better? Of course. No collectable is perfect. I'll wait till someone comes up with a roaring headsculpt custom and be happy with this till then.

:exactly:

Still..at this point in time, the best sixth scale poseable Hulk made!

:goodpost:

I didn't hesitate ordering Hulk. As far as the arms, I will wait to be concerned after we hear what they are actually made of. But since someone posted something about the arms possibly being some sort of PVC, I decided to look it up. I'd suggest you do too.

We know PVC is used a lot in pipe work. I looked up PVC and flexible PVC and everything I read basically said, PVC is often used underground ( pipe line, swimming pools, man made ponds, etc ) because of its resistance to deterioration. One article I read said they used flixible PVC for an oil pipeline. And it lasted 10 years before deterioration started. And it usually won't start breaking down unless it reaches over 140 degrees.

If the arms are PVC, I won't be worried a bit!:wave

This is great news! I hope you're right! And I hope they're PVC! :yess::yess:

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys MMS 186- Avengers: Hulk- official specs and pics

If this were a regular 12" TT figure and not the FREAKING INCREDIBLE HULK, then I can see how the price would be ridiculous, but well...there you have it. This is not your ordinary 1/6 release. When a regular 12" Figure is coming in at $200-$250 prices now, $300 for a 16.5" HULK seems pretty fair imo.

The $200 to $250 for ordinary releases isn't very reasonable either, in my opinion.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys MMS 186- Avengers: Hulk- official specs and pics

For once I agree with Bodie.

The landscape has surely changed when $300 is so easily, and excitedly by many, accepted.

I remember when the first Captain America PF was $217 *shipped* from Dark Shadow. Heck even the Green Hulk PF was cheaper than this!

Yeah, but what can you do about it besides either

A. Chalk it up.

or

B. Not buy it and hope to get it cheaper on the secondary market.

For me if I want something THAT bad Ill buy it. But if I have to even THINK about it then I shouldnt have a High End Premium figure of that character in the first place.

Fact is its just the way it is. And I dont see prices going down either. =/ Hell buy the time a new Hulk is available from HT itll be even MORE. So yeah $300 is great for this guy imo. And its where I guessed he would be too. $300-$350. Surprised he actually made it on the low end of that guestimation. :lol

And when Star Wars figures were $2.99? Yeah. Good times. :yess:

Ten years from now we will be saying "I remember when a HT Hulk was $300! Thats nothing now! Blah blah blah".

In my day we didn't have hair dryers. If you wanted to blow dry your hair you stood outside during a hurricane. Your hair was dry but you had a sharp piece of wood driven clear through your skull and that's the way it was and you liked it! You loved it. Whoopee, I'm a human head-kabob. We didn't have Manoxidol and Hair Wings, in my day if your hair started falling out when you were 16 by 19 you were a bald freak. There was nothing you could do about it. Children would spit at you and nobody would mate with you so you couldn't pass on your disgusting baldness genes. You were a public menace, a crome dome by age 20 and that's the way it was and we liked it! We loved it. Hallelujiah look at me, I'm a bald freak oh happy day! Not like today, everybody feeling good about themselves. I hate it! In my day we didn't have these thin laytex condoms. So you could enjoy sexual pleasure. In my day there was only one kind of condom. You took a rabbit skin and wrapped around your privates and tied it off with a bungee cord and you couldn't feel nothing! And half the time you didn't even know your partner was there. And we used the same one over and over again! 'Cause we were ignorant morons! Just a bunch of hairless, head-kabobs standing around with rabbit skins on our dinks and that's the way we liked it!

:rolleyes2

1. What's the chance we will see problems with the rubber/PVC after it's release?

2. A dio base would have been the icing on the cake for this figure.:(

100%. rubber deteriorates after time. even pvc. and it depends which kind of pvc ht uses. if its the poor kind then fast and toxic too.

i would really like to get this but with dx11 n 12 coming... :yess:
rubber/pvc(when confirmed) hulk will have to wait.
can't risk paying so much just to see my heart skip a beat when i check him everytime for cracks n tears :panic:

Agreed, even with the price being a bit lower than anticipated just not worth buying if its rubber. You also have the problem of paint cracking on PVC if its pliable and discoloration being a different material.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys MMS 186- Avengers: Hulk- official specs and pics

usually i wouldnt care if its rubber or not but prices aren't what they used to be anymore.. can't get more than 1-2 figures at once...
normally i'd just pay for a figure i really want and live with the consequences of cracking and whatever, just being happy i had the figure in the first place, i mean they don't cost thousands, so it's money made back soon enough! but economy's not so good so have to cut down (or my girlfriend will kill me).. man i am getting priced out..

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys MMS 186- Avengers: Hulk- official specs and pics

I'm not sure I would still have this figure in 10 years if I bought it today, would probably have the 2.0 version from Avengers 2, or 3 or... But they should last at least a lifetime me thinks.

i might not even be in this hobby for 2.0... such is the rising in prices...
:panic:

and yes i would be happy if it even lasted long enough for me to share with my kids and show them my batman and say "here's what daddy's favorite superhero looked like!!!"

but they probably won't...
(that's how hot toys stays in business... so you'll buy more)
