Worst case scenario - if we don't get any HT figures, I'd at least like to see Mattel do some 6" figures.. & of course see the TV show finally released at retail.

Would love to hear more but I'm guessing it'll take a quarter or two to figure out who's picking up what. Matty will prolly be first out of the gate with figures along with novelty branding players.

Mattel's current contract doesn't include the Adam West characters. While they might be adjusting it or renegotiating behind the scenes, a Mattel rep on the mattycollector boards confirmed this.

What do Matty's current contracts have to do with potential FUTURE contracts for a license announced just a week or so ago?

Just saying....

Jerry Macaluso of PCS confirmed that any rights issues for small figures for 66 and 89 have been cleaned up. We might be getting Burton figures announced at SDCC.

While it would be great for Hot Toys to get this license I'm not sure how much attention they'd give to it. You need a company that's going to commit to a decent character lineup, at least Batman, Robin, Joker and Catwoman, but then you'd also want to see Batgirl, Riddler and Penguin, plus a Batmobile. For most companies that would be an entire product line for a year.
Maybe Hot Toys should start a partnering program with some up and coming companies to handle high opportunity or unique licenses like Batman, Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, Green Hornet, cult movies, etc.
Hot Toys could charge a percentage, supply the bodies and perhaps get favorable access and rates on apparel manufacturing and open up distribution channels. The partner companies could do the headsculpts, costume design and marketing. That could be a win-win all around.

This makes a lot of sense so likely will never happen. Scifimetropolis tried to work with Diamond to produce 12 inch figures from the original Star Trek using thier existing prototypes. Diamond passed on producing some of the best ST likenesses ever to produce those garbage 1/4 scale figures that ended after Kirk and Spock came out. Like you I would rather see a smaller company with a lot of enthusiasm get the 12 inch license for 66 Batman. Hot Toys is already over extended with the properties they currently have. Plus if HT does get this and sales aren't what they want the line will die and no one else will be able to pick it up. Think about that cool Rorschach Hot Toys figure on your shelf. See what I mean.

Ma Parker and family 5-pack!

And I'd be one step closer to a set of Poseidon Adventure figures!

There are probably more 60's characters I'd buy than any of the movies that have come out since.

Yeah - you know what, although I don't generally buy the HT vehicles because they're way off my budget radar.. I'd consider buckling for the TV car. :lol :rock :rock

If they make it, the 60s Batgirl will be a must-buy. Hope they do it justice.

If they can do Marvel's Black widow, they can do Batgirl!

Also, I think if they commit to do West and Ward, they'll do the Batmobile. Also, if they really want do the 1/6 Batmobile, they'll do the figs to go with it. Stay tuned! :D

I almost bought a batmobile with exterior cave dio on ebay but the seller boned me. Will try to find pics of it....
