Barring licenses announced over the last couple of years that could have figures in the pipeline, I know of no license HT has announced where at least one figure has not been released. If Howard is doing an about face, then that's crummy.

You mean when the Nolancompoops refuse to buy the same figure for the sixth time but at the magical new $300 pricepoint, with the same QC issues, they pass on a rehashed black widow with a Hathaway head that looks more like Prince William in drag than Anne, and nobody wants to pay $275 for a 1/6 Barney body in a tactical vest with a jock strap over his head, so the Nolan TDKR Batman releases become shelfwarmers?

Pretty piss poor list of updates, we know all the Avengers are coming anyway, what a waste, would've been better to update on projects whose future are unknown like Avatar, Sucker Punch, Tron, Expendables ect...

This is a very bad prescedence, from now on all announcements mean squat, doesn't mean figures will be made and will just be done to get their customers hopes up for no reason.

Wow, that really blows. I can't believe that Sucker Punch can get figures, but GL gets the nix. Honestly, as far as figures go, even though it wasn't as good of a movie, I actually think GL was the more visually interesting between X-Men and GL. Shame, I would've found a way to swing this, too.

Hopefully now they will no longer announce licenses until the movie releases. Chances are they would have never picked this one up if they had waited a bit.

Sure they announced Iron Man 3, Superman and Wolverine already but those characters are proven sellers.

Yep. For better or for worse, they are the 1/6th scale establishment right now, and can't be burdened with too many risky licenses I guess. Hopefully guys like Enterbay and Shrunken Head Studios can help to pick up some of that market that HT isn't interested in appealing to.

Strange they'd back out on this one. I know they have a lot on their plate and are probably starting to see the effects of having more products and higher prices on the marketplace, but still...I'm pretty sure people would buy GL based on the character alone, not just the success of the film?

If that's the case why no official statement to those fans to actually officially tell them to stop waiting?

This is a bad day for their reputation.

1. A box office affects their decisions, which means if Avengers tanked those fans wouldn't get ____

2. If it's hard we're gonna give up, which means evolving their talents is becoming less and less

3. Not actually telling their customers this first hand, which means they din't have repsect for their customers

4. Bad Prescedence for all the announced licenses getting figures or not

5. Sticking to the same old same old. Which means taking risks on new potentially fantastic licenses and new score of customers won't happen

Although this sounds legit, I'm finding myself surprisingly optimistic here. These could be no different than quotes from GL haters, like we've already seen here. I'll wait to be disappointed until we see something a bit more official than posts in Japanese toy forums.
