See I think (and I'm just guessing), the DX08 and 09 will have production runs at least double if not triple the numbers HT did for DX01 and DX02. So over supply is one factor

Secondly, DX01 was originally sold for roughly $200 (could have been had for even less as you note). Due to limited supply In the face of increasing demand as people, particularly collectors in Europe and North America were starting to find out about Hot Toys, the price skyrocketed once it was sold out.

Now it appears to have settled in the $350-400 range

The DX08 and 09 have a significantly highe retail price to begin with, at $265 for Joker. With much of HTs market now already aware of their existence (market for 1/6 isn't growing as fast as it was), plus the over-supply I expect of these figures, I think anyone who wants one, will for the most part be able to acquire one at retail prices over the next 12 months or so. I just don't see secondary market value going crazy with these guys - yeah it could inflate to $300-350 but I don't see the doubling and tripling in value happening

Just my thoughts - of course I can be wrong but we shall see

I agree that HT prices are high, but if you cant afford them, then dont get them. But for those that CAN afford them, theyre track record for rubber bodies needs to seriousy be improved. Just because I can afford their products doesnt mean im going to accept crap.
As for the 89 bats, although there are only a handful of complaints, they do point toward bigger issues popping up in the future (just look at their track record) For those that seem to be insulted and upset by those that openly voice their opinions on the "oil issue" and state that it doesnt matter, or that you accept the oil as no big, later on, if this is a biger issue, then you shouldnt complain. Yet i doubt this would happen, lol.

I agree. Prices will drop substantially over the next year just like it has for Superman.

HT has really overproduced on its most recent icon figures.

A $175 Keaton Batman is very likely on a good day on eBay in time.

I don't see the overall value increasing like it did for Mark I in the near future... perhaps in years.

But maybe deteriorating rubber will slim the herd over time and 'clean' ones will in fact be rare.

Yeah there is that (the rubber factor), that's the real unknown with respect to Batman's value down the line.

For Joker though, if he's going for $500-600 in 2 yrs, then I'll be cursing myself for not picking up a couple (or a dozen) extras :lol

I'll bet they made a lot of Jokers too. But being that Jack Nicholson has never licensed himself before, this figure, even in great numbers, could increase its value quicker because of fans that pick this up that don't really collect 1/6th.

It infuriates me that the best ____ing company in the business couldn't give two ____s or a ____ about this issue and is ruining epic figures and burning customers in the process.

Personally, I'm glad I'm being treated like crap. This is after all, and election year. *badum tish*

Makes me crazy that this thread is always bumped to the top... it's practically a fluke thread at the moment... I calls it like I sees it.

Yeah, Two-Face was an extremely poor seller but is definitely one of those odd cases now that it's shot up in price.

I bought both of mine for $75 each. Probably the cheapest Hot Toys figure I have bought or will ever buy.

I received mine today and so far he is perfect. Obviously I can't see into the future but for now all is good.

I have one and would not be surprised at all if it leaked or turned into goo. With the BB/Bruce Wayne figure fiasco ...I'm not too confident about Hot Toys products

I've had this Hellboy figure since 2009 & it's in the exact same condition it was when I took it out of the box. Not every rubber product from HT has gone bad....but obviously some have issues.

With Hellboy the rubber was fine. It was the red plastic knee joints that were the problem. I had mine on his stand and he was slumped over one day. Here I found that the plastic just broke with age and without any force or anything. That sucked. Really liked Hellboy.

That's a shame....never had a problem with the joints at all. The rubber upper body & arms restricted movement but still a great figure. Funny thing is, the rubber on it has a much more tacky feel to it compared to any of the Batman products. Go figure.

Well time will tell for sure. Like I mentioned earlier in this thread, I've had a DX2 now for almost 2 years and he is bone dry still. I did receive a later batch which it seems that HT added a clear film like sticker between his body and chest plate that you can see peeking out slightly. So that might be what their fix was for that figure. I'm hoping I will get lucky twice.

Bend the elbows more than 45 degrees and leave it for six months. Then get back to us. :lol
