Usually, it takes longer if you go through the local store.

I did ordered 2. I have one conversion in mind with one of them but in the mean time, i have 2 custom 1/2 scale coming in a few months (Hulk and Thor).

Nice! What you thinking of converting to?

Nope that's called a happy result, a "Grail" is that one character or version of character you've always wanted in your chosen format from your chosen company that you'd never sell.

:lecture :exactly: :clap :clap

You and I are on the same page with this sentiment.

For me it's a 1/4 Light-up Modern Nova Maquette from Sideshow.

My Marvel grail is a Jean Grey 1/4 PF.

I don't know what yours is but i know it would have to have a very low ES, retail for cheap and quadrouple in price on the aftermarket for you to be happy.

:lol :lol :lol :lol

you'd think sideshow is planning on a modern nova, since they did a annihilation ultron recently

:1-1: I think a Jean Grey PF is the grail of quite a few collectors!

Would be great, i'd prefer a Maquette like iron mans, the lights would be perfect in that format.

but i'd take anything :D

Convert it into brown costume. It all depends on what kind of sculpt Wolvie has under that costume.

Even better if Sideshow release 2 more version with those 2 other heads. The original and brown costume Wolvie.

I still think Sideshow should've done it made to order with a choice of costume colours, though the only reason not to would be cancellations.

i get why they went with Yellow/Blue as it's the most well known.

They should have done the brown costume imo. We already have a blue/yellow one. I think only real fans would pay that much money for a Wolverine statue and the real fans know the blue/yellow just as well as the brown. Think SSC will sell a lot more if the LSF was the brown version.

I am sorry to disagree with you but the definition of "grail" it´s a little different.

A grail it´s not something that you PERSONALLY like because you consider PERSONALLY awesome.

A grail is something THE COMMUNITY of collectors recognize as AWESOME and which due the low production, or due the high demand or BOTH the price SKYROCKET........

I am sorry but for example if you was a Fan of Prince of Persia for AMIGA and DASTAN PF for you it´s the best PF in the world, this doesn´t make DASTAN a Grail.

8th wonder, our definitions just differ.

When people say "character X in Y format would be my grail" they're not referring to others having to want it too or it being limited, just that it is their grail piece! Something they've always wanted.

There is only ONE definition for collector´s grail,
and it is "a rare piece wanted and desired from most of the colletors".

Never heard about someone saying "that is my grail"..... only because for himself that is a wanted piece.

...and who can speak for 'most of the collectors'?, you?.

A grail is subjective and I don't see how can you say that a 'grail' is something 'THE COMMUNITY of collectors' see as awesome when Forums about collecting are only a VERY small % of the collecting fan base.
Many people on a Forum may like a product, many others may not but who's to say what the other substantial % of collectors that don't post on a forum think? they may not consider said item a 'grail'.

Everyone has different grails, for instance I don't consider the Hulk PF to be one, but it doesn't mean that I will question it if others do.

Damn, I literally HATE the word g-r-a-i-l nowadays

Anyway, lets not get OT shall we.

THE PRICE determinate if a piece is a grail or not.
When the demand is high and product sold out the prices skyprocket.
That is the first law of the commerce.

THOR PF is a grail, Captain America PF is a grail, Spiderman Comiquette is a grail, Hulk Vs. Spiderman Diorama is a GRAIL, DOOM and so on....

AS I said the definition of grail is a piece which is so wanted that prices skyrocket,
NOT something you like.

You will never see a Skywalker Bespin PF sold for more than his original price.

There are at least 5 users here talking about "what is a grail" ...why do you just refer to me?
:FREAK:

In the short time I have been on here, a year, I have seen countless members post Dr. Doom PF, Captain America PF, Hulk PF, etc. as grails, main defining characteristics of grail--sold out, low ES, rare, and one that has double or tripled in price.

I think, perhaps, the term grail is being thrown around too much. If The Rocketeer is the best movie ever and my Rocketeer PF is my favorite piece, I wouldn't say it's a grail, just that IMO it is a great piece and my favorite. I don't own a grail. Those owning Hulk PF, Iron Man PF, Hulk PF, Doom PF, Cap PF, etc. are owning grails. Statues that have far exceeded their original value and are next to impossible to obtain reasonably now...
