Cause Red & Blue Spidey >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Krylon Black Spidey.

Yes, but there are 'lesser figures' being talked about more. New Goblin for example. I thought it'd have a thread of it's own at least.

Kylon, I haven't heard that word in ages. I never knew what it meant until now.

I saw a lot of posts complaining about how bad the red and blue suit looked after the proto was shown, I'm gonna guess that this will look a lot better under better lighting and better posing. Looks just like the black suit to me from 3, I think it looks pretty good.

Yes it is awesome. Great looking figure. Nay Sayers can leave the thread cause this thing is gonna rock. SOLD!

If I had to choose one or the other it'd be red/blue Spidey for sure...but I get to choose both. Can't wait to have them on the shelf. :rock

Um this thread is for red and blue spider man so how about if you want to talk about how much you like the black one you make a thread for it...

Exactly my point. And of course red and Blue Spidey is the best but I thought a lot of people where looking forward to the black suited Spidey. It's one of the best story arcs in the Spider-man comics so it deserves a figure.

and its getting a figure, which will be discussed in another thread :D

Coco - I went through all 40 something pages of your "show your shelves" thread earlier and just WOW:clap. One thing is for sure with your custom shelves and mini posters you will make one awesome Spiderman red/blue and black display. I can't wait to see it.

What an awesome compliment! Thank you qbomb! :rock I've got lots of ideas for a Spidey display. His poses are limitless and next to 89 Bats and Joker this is my most anticipated figure ever. I can't wait!

He's my 2011 figure of the year for sure.

If HT decided to stop making any more figures from Spiderman 1, 2 & 3, wouldn't that be more of a reason to get this figure? It's HT, it's Spiderman, & it's a good figure. Even if you didn't like the movies, this is a good representation of Spiderman altogether. You don't have to look at this figure & think "oh, that's Spiderman from Spiderman 3". You can look at it & think "that's Spiderman" :D If you are a Spidey fan, comic, cartoon, movie or Electric Company, is there a better figure? :D

No, they gain value by making limited supply of each edition. So, when new comers and pepole who didn't have the money at the time notice they sold out, they end up paying more for them when they decide to get them. When they keep making more new ones from the same line, the originals LOSE value. Sooner or later the market will be flooded, and companies like this will go bankrupt. Why not just make add-ons and accessories to update the originals instead? :exactly:
- Desirable figures with a limited supply edition go up in value - Agreed
- People who miss out on a limited figure might pay more later to get it - Agreed
- Making more of the same "limited" figure later causes the original release to lose value - Pending
- Company will go bankrupt releasing a figure again - Disagreed

The company sells the figure, we pay retail prices, then we sell it later on above retail value. The toy company doesn't see any of the money we made from flipping/selling. I would think the company would make more money when releasing a popular figure again. People who really wanted it, but missed out, & still want it, would eat it up. Look at what's happening with the release of OC Bats :D

- Why not make add ons? - They have the gantry, tumbler ..... etc. So it's happening :D

Also, I think you missed the point I was trying to make with my original post. Basically I was saying, if you want a Spidey figure, this would be a good chance to get one, because we don't know when the next red/blue HT Spiderman figure will be (if ever) released :D

Battle damage Spidey FTW :hi5:

The problem with your point, is my point. We do know they keep releasing the same figures over and over. This is a problem for collectors looking to gain value or make a profit when it's time to sell them. Many of these collectibles are bought for the sole purpose of re-selling. There are more re-sellers buying then there are serious collectors. Ebay is currently flooded with HT & Show products. If they keep making similar ones, then interest will be lost, and values will decrease. Did you ever notice they make exclusives with one stupid extra piece, and people go crazy for them. If they would just make similar accessories available to update these same figures, then there would be no need to re-produce more figures at all. I'm 100% sure that collectors would still pay big money for just one add-on at a time. An example-Look how much the Pred Bio-Mask goes for by itself on Ebay-$200, which only came with the exclusive. They could have just mass produced that, and made the same amount of money.:exactly: Yet, they seem to want to do things the hard way. :cuckoo:

Like its been said so many times on this site. If you are in this to make money, then there are other more secure ways to do so. Savings account, IRA's, CD's....

No tears for people that are here to drive up prices for collectors. This hobby is expensive enough without flippers driving up the prices.

(which is why it's schadenfreudingly amusing when a reissue causes a price reset!)

i love the way people _____ about the price their figure will be...that's not the point of collecting. If the price of the figure is what matters to you then I hope they re-release every figure you own just so you can't sell it in the future for the scalper prices you hope for :D
