I told my friend (whom shall remain unnamed) that they are fake auctions (well technically the one he showed me had no bids), so I have not even seen one yet that has been bidden on yet that go for x-amount of dollars. As if a buyer is gonna pay 2,000 at a Buy It Now price when they can get it for around 500. And if it was selling for 2,000, then you would see the ones listed at BIN at under a 1,000 dollars being snatched up right away instead of just spending weeks on eBay.

I was prepared to pull the $2K and $1K sales from the Wolverine PF Sales report, but then we had the following three sales:

Wolverine - Exclusive 270748701499 2011-05-17 $ 775.99​

The $775.99 final price was for an auction. It was probably legit, but I'm sure the price was affected by the previous sales at $2K and $1K. The next two sales at $1899.95 (best offers) are more questionable. The seller is one of the bigger sellers on eBay, but there's no proof that the buyers actually paid to complete the transaction.

There was an auction that ended on Sunday with a $500 high bid, but the reserve was not met. The Buy It Now was at $1,999.99. At this point, none of the sellers want to be the one that undersold the Wolverine PF EX. The current listings on eBay have a Buy It Now between $1,200 and $2,499. If I'm a buyer, I think I'd wait for one of the sellers to "blink" and drop the price to a more reasonable amount.

Seeing the history, there is an incredible jump from 500 to 2,000 in no time. It would be more believable if we saw a gradual increase of value over a longer period of time, say 500-600 to 700-800 and so forth. Not this. There is no logic to it. Completely skewered prices. Nothing makes that kind of leap or warrants that kind of boost in a short period, especially when the piece is not as rare, old or as sought after as the Wolverine PF is, which it isn't, and may never reach that point... ever. I mean in terms of being sought after enough were people will pay that kind of dough. Those are definitely false sales if one actually believes those were sold at those prices. It's common sense, those are rigged. That is why you'll be lucky to see one go at a legitimately bidden price of even several hundred at this current point of time.
