i couldn't get firefox to load chat either, so just used IE and it's working fine....

Usually you get a warning to block something from Java. You have to click no. If you click yes, it'll block the entire thing. Clear your cookies and try again.

Yeah i had to "accept" java, it installed apparently fine but everytime i go to open chat it says i need to install java.

The second Java approval for Windows is default "yes" but it asks if you want to block the program due to security issues (if you're not paying attention you'll block Java from running). You actually have to click "no" to allow it.
