Well, you guys (and gals) be the judge. I took some macro pics of suspect areas.

not very happy with the paint quality. Doesn't seem like a $500 statue. Very sloppy in some places, and very thin to non-existent in other places. This is my first "Legacy" piece, which on first impression, means absolutely nothing.

I agree, this is my first Legacy piece and paint quality is not smooth. There is too many problem areas and my mouth area seems crooked. I think I am gonna ask for a replacement.:gah:

Trouble is, they are probably all like this. At least mine's mouth isn't crooked, but there are areas where the black detail lines is hardly even visible.

If the painter did a better job with the black paint application, I wouldn't be as upset about it.

Mesa, that just doesnt look right!
I just went over mine with a magnifying glass and it looks like yours have some repainted parts. Maybe they used a brush on it after it was painted, very strange!
Maybe this one need to go back.

If I was able to, I'd return it, period, but I'm not about to forfeit all the reward points I used on this.

Definitely calling and asking for a replacement tomorrow.

These are the issues I have the most issue with:

This pic speaks volumes as to the poor application of the black lines.

IMG_3001Large.jpg

What the ____ is this? It's like they didn't even try to reapply black paint to the brush after it ran out. Or used a felt tip pen to unevenly fill in the lines.

IMG_3009Large.jpg

What's going on just below the knee? Is that extra polystone where the line should connect to the other side?

Someone on the factory line messed up! Looks like the paint didnt dry properly. Its running. Get a replacement for sure!

The overall paint apps on your's is worse than mine man...at least I have thick spray on 95% of my statue. I gotta say, the more I look at my IM, the more disappointed I am because I was SURE that this was going to be THE Ironman statue without major issues. I don't understand how the hell Sideshow let crappy chin paint applications and thin spray get by on this expensive of a piece. I doubt we will get any response from Sideshow in regards to this, but I think Mesa is right that any replacement we do get will most likely have varying degrees of the same failure.

The next pictures was taken for irony:

I should have known the outlook wasn't going to be good when I removed the art box from the shipping and opened the lid, only for the lid to completely fall off.

Also, the AC adapter, when I unplugged it from the wall getting it ready to be returned with all items, part of it came apart just by me pulling on it from the wall socket; the outer housing shell opened exposing the wires inside.

Just don't defend it if it looks like the problem ones shown so far. I know it's good to have high hopes, I did, but this seems like a bad run, one not seen since..., hmm..., the last stealth iron man fiasco.

Good luck on yours.

:peace

These paint issues suck. Are all these coming out bad? Averone I noticed you got yours too. Did yours have paint issues?

Well I can't complain about the paint job that I recieved on my Ironman. As with most statues you you have your blemishes that you can find, but overall it's pretty well done. Mostly bought this statue with the anticipated release of War Machine, which is my favorite of them all.

#546/800...

No issues here guys!
It is here!!!!
OMG!
Can I say IM orgasm? This is a thing of beauty!

I just put up a quick review, was almost too excited to talk!!

Yes you can! :lol

Nice to see that you and Averone both got one of the better ones too. Congrats! Love the pics from IronLungs and I just gawk at Averone's IM collection. :thud:

If its not a good piece I'll say so. Though the Chin has been the main issue it seems like.

We shall see.

Awesome ironman collection Averone. Incredible.

On your YouTube comments, the third comment by "joeprox" said his came in with damage. :lol :lol :lol

yeah my AC adapter fell apart to when taking it off the wall... there was no screw on it being tightened!!!
here's some more problem areas besides the crooked chin-mouth area and bad paint apps...

In these pics, the shoulder and chin area create a bad gap with bad paint apps again and the chin flows farther apart to make it even more crooked.

Mine get's here tomorrow too and a full video review will be on the way....

Cheers

Not fair. If yours sucks, you got the skills to repaint it.

I keep looking mine over. Anyone elses really dusty? Maybe it's the metallic paint, but I had to take a brand new swiffer to mine.
