I'm starting to find the chat really frustrating now. Twice now I've posted first on my screen for prizes, one by 1 and the seccond by 2 posts, and both times I've lost. I guess it's lag, but really annoying anyway.

Welcome to the world of SSC Chat. It's like that every year :gah: .

That happens to everyone. What it is, is that when you hit enter it pops up first on your screen because you entered it. That's not necessarily the order in which it hits the chat for everyone else.

You've got to remember that you're competing with a bunch of other people who are all clicking answers at around the same time because a google search takes most people all the same time.

Don't worry, you'll get your time! It's happened to me many times, but I've also had the great fortune of lucking out as well!

mIRC/IRC never lags. Don't use the java chat.

I'll be at sdcc tomorrow, a good friend had a bit of a crisis so that will prevent me from attending the freaks party and missing two days of con. I need a Sunday badge, lol

I don't know where to ask this so I'll try here since it's related to a sideshow comic con event.

I'm already a newsletter subscriber, does that automatically enter me in the "Over $5,000 In Prizes Up For Grabs!" contest or should I need to complete the form at the bottom of the page?

Thanks in advance!

I'd complete the form anyway just to be safe.

And if anyone can get me an Iron Man Gift Card from the Con (or any other design they gave out) I would really appreciate it. I don't care about the value so if you used it all ready thats fine I just want the card itself.

Hey Darth, do you have the T2 one?

After watching those videos I definitely will be using the hell out of Flex.

How is Flex pay actually useful? I've always wondered that, you just end up splitting it up into payments that end when the product ships, you could just order like normal and pay the same amount when it ships and you'll have the same result. It's not like it gives you extra time

That is correct, but for some people making several smaller payments is easier on the budget than one big hit. Technically, you could set aside money in your savings account each month until the product ships and achieve the same result, but a lot of us don't/can't/won't remember to do that.

One way it would be useful is if there is a product in stock, but you can't afford it at the moment but don't want to take the chance of it selling out before you save up the money. Then you can get your order locked in and start making payments over time and finally get it, even if it sells out the day after your first payment. So the greatest benefit would be to someone looking for a "layaway" approach to an in stock item that could potentially sell out before they could scrape the funds together.
