finally! a proto pic! and...

yup, just as i feared. it's silk spectre redux. decent head sculpt, bad clothing. i dont mind her reaction, dont think she has a dumb look at all like some said, but look at that flapping collar around her collarbone all the way down to that humongous zipper. cant ht choose a thinner material for her clothing? i was rooting like mad for this to be my first female ht fig. now i'm not so sure.

Um...what? The clothes look great. I think you're seeing what you expected, not what's there.

I can't say I disagree with you karamazov80 but nor do I agree.

Yes rooted hair does take it closer to the 'dolly' realm but I think you are too fixated with the hair.
Would you prefer this to have plastic hair instead?
Where does She-Predator Machiko fit in all this?

I concede that we are all collecting dolls. I'm not hung up on the idea of having dolls on my shelf. But having said that, yeah, plastic hair would be preferable to me, and would make me more inclined to buy a figure. Just my preference, so I wish HT would go that route. Yes, you would reduce articulation, but the "real" hair is just too much. Not necessarily that it reminds me of Barbie, but like I said before, it makes it another kind of toy somehow that I don't like. Maybe I am too hung up on it, but it is a pretty major issue for me personally. I really hope Sideshow doesn't go that route with female GI Joes, or there is a better than fair chance that I will pass on them.

I don't have the Machiko, and I don't know much about it, so I can't comment on that.

no, i'm seeing it as it is, without scarjo's cleavage clouding my judgement. just look and compare the two shots:

the cardinal sin for a 1/6 scale fig is for the clothing material to be 1/1 in scale. that could turn any cool fig to look like a doll. just look at that ugly corner flap around her neck, that giant zipper pull, or that thick lines on both sides of the zipper line.

I definitely see ScarJo in this pic, but as they say the eyes are the windows to the soul, and maybe it's the shape of them face on, that is throwing off the likeness a little.

Likeness seems better the closer you look. From a wider angle, it looks more generic to me. That sounds like an obvious fact for any figure, but I haven't noticed this so much with other HT releases.

yeah, the shoulders are too thin. exact same problem with silk spectre.

on likeness, there's room for improvement sure, but i thought this is already 90% there. i even love the opened mouth. makes her more life like imo.

Something sheer/that fit tighter like that would've looked better. As is.. it kinda looks like something you'd see with a standard Cy-Girl outfit.

Her headsculpt is fantastic. Seriously everyone quit yer _____in so she comes out just like this.

Only thing the outfit can use a little work...

This is where I think the likeness is the best. Needs some tweaking like I said to be just about perfect. Also isn't the material for the outfit wrong? It looks like a spandex type material not leather.

Very good shots! I like how in the real shots of the figure the skin tone holds that real life look. Hair still is a bit odd but I'm liking this figure more all the time.
