After seeing the movie again I have more interest in this figure. I will wait for a second version, if none is made I can live without.

One thing that comes to mind, in my eye, that is off is it seems the head appears wider at the chin and tapers towards the head. Perhaps if the hair had more volume it would help how I see this piece. In the movie pics you can see Leonides' hair isn't as matted to his head.

looks like opinion on the likeness is pretty evenly split, eh.

still, in this case it's undeniable that ht didn't get the sculpt obviously "wrong", unlike the big chap alien's face (although that's a different ball game--- creatures vs human features).

and i agree with the forummer who said there should be weathering on the edges of the cape. that would really heighten the realism. good suggestion.

Not to mention Rambo, the two newest Rambo's and newest Rocky III.Marcus is a great likeness and so is Connor, Goemon is a excellent likeness too,Godfather,Batman V2 Begins suit,The Comedian,Silk Spectre,Harvey Dent,William Turner..They have done the best likenesses in 1/6th out of any other company period.

they've done well... but for sheer perfection, i vote for enterbay

Hey guys remember the very first image we saw of this figure? And We all thought it had short legs. That image came from the Sniper Cats blog. Well he just posted the official pics. And he wrote this:

実は海外の各フォーラムでボクが以前雑誌を撮影した300の画像が流出してたのですが、立ったまま撮影したもんで撮影時に角度が付いてしまい、遠近法で足が短く見える感じに写ってしまったんですよ。
ソレを見た海外の方々から「こんなに足が短いのかっ!!」と誤解して騒がれておりました(笑)
みんなボクの適当な撮影のせいです~!!ごめんちゃい!
ってか・・・うかつに悪さできないや(笑)

And I put it in google translate:

I have previously taken the magazine each forum is abroad I was actually a net outflow of 300 images, taken away at an angle with a shot while standing in the gate, look like short legs seen in perspective I'm afraid we were.
Sole people from overseas who saw the "hue of the legs are so short!" Hyped and sensing systems for the misunderstanding (laughs)
It is appropriate because of my shooting everyone ~! ! Chestnut Sorry!
Tteka inadvertently or not the bad (laughs)

:lol:monkey5

I want to get this fig but am concerned about the rubber deteriorating. I have the HT Green Beret and he shows no signs of it yet. Do they deteriorate when put in a static pose and left that way, or when different poses are done every couple weeks?

I think it's more when an extreme pose is kept for a long amount of time. Generally rubber bodies are ok if they are in a normal-ish pose aren't they? Like no arms pointing upwards, and that.

I also think they deteriorate more if they are kept in extended sunlight.

I actually watched 300 last night. I love this figure even more now.

I have old rubber dolls that were my grandmother's that after all they've been through, are perfectly fine. I think keeping them out of extremes and out of the sun, they should last a very long time.

I bet this will be very popular in the "alternative lifestyles" community. Not sure I want some man with rippling muscles in a little speedo displayed on my shelf. Does look very nice and movie accurate, however.

So you didn't own any Masters of the Universe growing up then?

Yes, gay men will like it as will unconfused straight men who like the movie.

I did, but that doesn't make them any less, urm, gay. And of course the people who love the movie will buy and enjoy him I'm sure, but as I said, I personally wouldn't want him on my shelf. Of course, I wouldn't want any of those weird, scantily clad anime girls on my shelf, either.

My man cave is in the basement so no direct sunlight there. I'm pretty happy putting a figure in a simple pose and keeping it that way, so hopefully I'll be alright.

You have to remember though, the Persians and the Athenians were the real "BOY LOVERS" in the movie.

But in real life the Spartans practiced institutionalized pedophilia.

We are all very prudish!
Thanks to christianity, we are all very close minded about sex and sexuality when compared to our ancestors!
Mine are the celts and they did all sorts of things that no modern straight laced (that's gay or straight) male would not do.

It's fantasy lads and I love my He-man's, Conan's, Tarzan's and 300's.
I love my, muscles and swords and I'm straight.

If folks think it's 'gay' to have this Leonidas figure, then that says more about them than anything else.
