I'm willing to overlook the awful head sculpt due to the fact we don't need to buy the deluxe to get the regular tentacles.

But seriously, hopefully there's some improvements made to that sculpt. Yikes.

Ugh yeah, that sculpt is a massive disappointment. I'm ok with the smiling expression they're going for, but the likeness needs to be a whole lot stronger for such an iconic character as this.

Figure looks awesome otherwise though, and like others I see no need for the deluxe.

The Ant-Man figure at least has a passing resemblance of Paul Rudd. This is just straight trash.

Third party companies can do better than this and Hot Toys is probably gonna charge close to $400 for this.

If they don't drastically improve on this they may have to pay us to take the inventory off their hands!

No one is buying that deluxe. The original arms are all we need!

Guess I'll be the first to say I'm fine with the sculpt. I mean an open mouth sculpt usually is an odd look for any sculpt. Perhaps more of a closed mouth might be better.

F yes on the deluxe having the red tentacles. I won't be buying that version! Tentacles and outfit look fantastic! Yes, figure looks overall pretty good and cannot wait to get this bad boy.

If there was ever a time hot toys should have blurred a head sculpt, this was it.

It's not perfect, no way. But...the entire package is still better stronger the TE one.

I will reserve final judgement for the sculpt when we see JC Hong pics, or Secret base ones.

Depending on the price difference of the deluxe, I'll buy on principal of going deluxe always. But if it's egregious, then regular it is.

From the neck down it’s pretty good but holy **** this head is terrible. I’m all on board with the open mouth, it’s just that the face and hair is an absolute abomination.

Vintage HT. They'll give some random C- level character a perfect likeness, but then totally drop the ball with all time great iconic characters.

Yeah the TE one kinda had a tiny head if I recall (which really bothers me lol), so even though I'm disappointed by the sculpt I still don't regret waiting for this instead.

He just looks like some weird hippy with that smile, the green glasses and that Beatle haircut.

The Toys Era is better, and its wrong.

I think HT needs to steer clear of smiling sculpts, especially baring teeth.

Go back to a stern, scowling Doc.

By the way, I don't think they are showing all the attachment for the tentacles in the overview pic. I think 4 articulated and either one closed for holding the glasses or it can be articulated that way and then a spear one.

The arms are superior and the tailoring is a bit better, but there’s no way I’m ordering this unless the head is exponentially improved. The TE sculpt with the goggles on is much better than this atrocity. The glasses frames look way too thick as well. HT should be embarrassed by this release.
