The sculpted hair makes it look a lot less barbieish than if they gave it doll hair. I am always amazed that people keep pretending that rooted hair on hot toys look good.

It can absolutely look good if done properly...but that usually requires more effort than most people want to bother with.

I'm not against rooted hair for female figs if the hairstyle is more conducive for it (I think HT chose the right approach going sculpted with this version of BW), however what I feel would have elevated the realism for this figure is if they applied a more robust paint app rather than the one tone application they gave it.
I’ll admit the paint application on the hair is on the flatter side. But at least they didn’t accidentally give her the wrong hair color entirely like Captain Marvel :rotfl

I agree, I wonder why it seems that Hot Toys has a problem with blonde hair? Although I like both my Captain Marvel and Thor (DW) figures I think those hair is too dark. I have contemplated lightening it but I am afraid to ruin them.

I'll likely get this one at some point - just have a few others ahead of her in the queue. It's the best looking Black Widow for sure.

No doubt this one of the best BW's, I'm also looking forward to what the Black Widow movie brings!!

For those of you that have this figure, does she seem incredibly undersized compared to the rest of your MCU figures?

I've been debating going back and forth on ordering the Endgame version of Nat. I have the Civil War version, and while I have a rule of one figure per character, I'm thinking of ordering the Endgame version as an "upgrade" as I prefer sculpted hair.

I saw a few pictures recently and she looked really small next to a Captain America figure. Wanted to ask what everyone's opinion here was. I'll probably pick her up while Sideshow still has her. Like I said, the sculpted hair is a big selling point. Just don't want her to look ridiculous on the shelf if she's crazy small.

Thanks!

I don't own it...but in general the female figures (particularly Black Widow) usually does come undersized.

That said, I would say save your mullah...the new White Widow suit which will release later this year probably looks like the real winner to me! That's the one I plan on getting.

She is absolutely undersized, yes. They made the figure equal to 5'3" - Scarlett's actual height - but didn't account for the fact that the Endgame figure is wearing 6" wedged boots. In other words they made Black Widow as if she was a 4'9" woman. A google image search of Scarlet alongside any of the other actors at premieres and events shows she should at least come up to Cap's eyes.

All that said, I very much doubt Hot Toys is going to realize their mistake at this point and correct her scale for Widow's solo film figures. So I would not pass on the figure based on the scale inaccuracy.

Thanks guys. Appreciate the feedback.

Scale accuracy isn't of the upmost importance to me, I much prefer likeness accuracy first and foremost, which is why I really want that Endgame Widow. It looks so spot on. I guess, since I have the Civil War Widow currently and she doesn't seem terribly out of proportion to other figures, the Endgame Widow just seemed jarringly small compared to the Captain America figure it was posed next to. I suppose I can always avoid putting them next to each other.

And as amazing as that white Widow looks, definitely prefer her in her black suit for my Marvel display. I guess I could fall back on that version if Sideshow runs out of the Endgame version before I pull the trigger, but it just looks so good I'd hate to not have it.

If her extra height in the movies is in her boots, maybe ankle extenders would make up the difference in a way that looks natural?

No can do. She has those fixed boots and honestly her legs already look on the overly long side because of her big wedge heels. She can still look fine alongside others, though.

I'm going to have to disagree with this. I've been checking out pictures of Scarlett specifically in scenes with Chris Evans as he's 6 feet tall and doesn't wear lifts, so (unlike Downey) his height doesn't fluctuate from movie to movie. Scarlett doesn't come anywhere near Evans' eye level. And consider that in both of these pics she would have been wearing boots with very big heels.

So for what it's worth, I saw this picture over on Reddit last week and this is where I thought she looked undersized. Seeing these pictures from melkorjunior makes me think it's not as bad as I thought.

I just looked at my Civil War Widow compared to my Civil War Bucky and Ant-Man and she's a bit small next to them as well. She just looked crazy small next to Cap in that photo.

As ZE_501 pointed out, it's easy to forget Scarlett is a tiny person in real life too, so I guess it makes sense.

Not as bad but still a little too small. But at least the figure looks good in and of itself.

Endgame Cap on the other hand looks crap there. Once again no traps. Concept Cap proves to be nothing more than a happy accident with HT apparently just not seeing the problem.

Yes, thanks for sharing this picture, it is helpful. So yeah she may not be diminutive but her figure is still significantly undersized compared to the others relative to their appearance in the films. This is a great looking figure but without a doubt it is too small. Is she the same height as the Civil War version? For some reason the CW version seems a little taller, of course I have no idea because mine is in its box in my attic :)

I quite like her proportions, she doesn't look like a twig as other HT Widows do. That may be one positive trade-off to her being tiny. I just don't understand why this so often seems to be the way with Hot Toys. You want a fuller looking Black Widow? OK but we're going to make her Tinker Bell in the process. Sure we'll give you a better likeness for Captain America - you don't mind him having a micro-head, right? :lol :slap

Aaaaiiii...don't mind me. I'm having a moody day.
